Belmont Abbey sues feds over Obama care provision, Birth control, Federal mandate forces religious institutions opposed to birth control to violate their beliefs or face penalties
Belmont Abbey, a Catholic college just west of Charlotte, NC is challenging ObamaCare over a provision that requires employer insurance plans to cover contraception and other birth control.

“Belmont Abbey College has filed a broad legal challenge to the part of President Barack Obama’s health care reforms that requires employer insurance plans to cover contraception and other birth control.
The Catholic college in Gaston County says the federal mandate forces religious institutions opposed to birth control to violate their beliefs or face penalties. The rule goes into effect next August.
The school has sued a number of federal agencies. The defendants include Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius and Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner.
Keith Maley, an HHS spokesman, said the agency doesn’t comment on pending litigation.
The suit was filed in U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C., by the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, a nonprofit, public-interest law firm.
The debate began in 2007, when a group of Belmont Abbey faculty members challenged the school’s refusal to include prescription contraceptives in its health care plan.
In 2009, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission ruled that Belmont Abbey was violating federal law.
The school’s recent suit focuses on Obama’s 2010 Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, which requires preventative health coverage on procedures like mammograms and cervical screenings, along with contraception and sterilizations.
A religious organization can be exempted if its spiritual values are central to its mission and if it primarily employs or serves “people who share its religious tenets.””

One of my uncles attended Belmont Abbey College on a baseball scholarship many years ago. I went to a performance there several years ago. It is a beautiful small school.

Eligibility is the number one issue above all others. Nothing else is even close. It’s hard to even imagine that there is a number two.
Those who think the economy, war, health care bill, etc are more important are really saying ” we need to fix health care (or whatever) and it is so important an issue that we need someone working on it. It doesn’t matter if the one working on it is the biggest lying criminal that has perpetrated the biggest fraud in history on our country. Just so long as someone is working on this very important issue.”
I hope that explains it.
I should have added that the people who are running interference for him are no more trustworthy to work on these “very important issues.”

Well you were right….Daniel T. Frawley’s sentencing date has been postponed….NO date set….His lawyer is undergoing hip surgery…ya right…The prosecution are sticking with the 18 months recommended sentencing…
I think while he’s waiting some eager investigative reporter should try an get an interview….there will be no getting any where near Rezko but it would seem Frawley is available…

Foreign Ministry reports circulating in the Kremlin today are warning that an already explosive situation in the United States is about to get a whole lot worse as a new law put forth by President Obama is said capable of seeing up to 500,000 American citizens jailed for the crime of opposing their government.
Sparking the concern of Russian diplomats over the growing totalitarian bent of the Obama government is the planned reintroduction of what these reports call one of the most draconian laws ever introduced in a free society that is titled “The Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act”.
First introduced in the US Congress in 2007 by Democratic Representative Jane Harmon, this new law passed the US House of Representatives by a secretive voice vote, but failed to pass the US Senate, after which it was believed dead until this past week when it was embraced by Obama who became the first American President to name his own citizens as a threat to his Nations security.
In what is called the National Security Strategy document, that is required of US Presidents by their Congress, that embraces the dictatorial ideals of the “Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act”, Obama has ordered his Federal police and intelligence forces to begin targeting Americans opposed to him and his radical socialist polices.
Obama’s top counter-terrorism advisor, John Brennan, in speaking to reporters about this new “strategy” says it makes the problem of home-grown terrorists a top priority because an increasing number of individuals in the US have become “captivated by extremist ideology or causes.”
The Times of London is further reporting that Obama’s new National Security Strategy “officially” ends America’s “War on Terror” in what they call “a sweeping repudiation of the Bush doctrine of pre-emptive military strikes.”
And as Obama begins re-focusing his forces from fighting America’s foreign enemies, to those opposed to him in his own country, it is important to remember the warning about this new law given by the former CIA official, Philip Giraldi, who had previously warned of the Bush-Cheney plan to attack Iran with nuclear weapons, and who said:
“The mainstream media has made no effort to inform the public of the impending Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act. The Act, which was sponsored by Congresswoman Jane Harman of California, was passed in the House by an overwhelming 405 to 6 vote on October 24th and is now awaiting approval by the Senate Homeland Security Committee, which is headed by Senator Joseph Lieberman of Connecticut.
Harman’s bill contends that the United States will soon have to deal with home grown terrorists and that something must be done to anticipate and neutralize the problem. The act deals with the issue through the creation of a congressional commission that will be empowered to hold hearings, conduct investigations, and designate various groups as “homegrown terrorists.”
The commission will be tasked to propose new legislation that will enable the government to take punitive action against both the groups and the individuals who are affiliated with them. Like Joe McCarthy and HUAC in the past, the commission will travel around the United States and hold hearings to find the terrorists and root them out.
Unlike inquiries in the past where the activity was carried out collectively, the act establishing the Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Commission will empower all the members on the commission to arrange hearings, obtain testimony, and even to administer oaths to witnesses, meaning that multiple hearings could be running simultaneously in various parts of the country.
The ten commission members will be selected for their “expertise,” though most will be appointed by Congress itself and will reflect the usual political interests. They will be paid for their duties at the senior executive pay scale level and will have staffs and consultants to assist them.
Harman’s bill does not spell out terrorist behavior and leaves it up to the Commission itself to identify what is terrorism and what isn’t.
Language inserted in the act does partially define “homegrown terrorism” as “planning” or “threatening” to use force to promote a political objective, meaning that just thinking about doing something could be enough to merit the terrorist label.
The act also describes “violent radicalization” as the promotion of an “extremist belief system” without attempting to define “extremist.”
As an example of those American’s Obama will be targeting, Giraldi further writes that The Simon Wiesenthal Center, in testifying before the US Congress in support of this new law, swore that an organization called “Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth” was an example of a homegrown terrorist organization, leading one Russian diplomat in this report to state “If 1,200 of America’s top architectural and engineering professionals are deemed terrorists simply because they question their governments propaganda than truly no one is safe in the United States anymore”.
As another example of how dictatorial the Obama regime has become, and as the Gulf of Mexico oil debacle has now become the worst ecological disaster our World has ever seen, the White House press secretary, Robert Gibbs, this past week slammed American reporters for “asking too many questions about BP”. Leading one to ask that if Obama’s regime can’t be asked about this disaster, what can they be asked about?
The answer is apparently none, as Obama himself, just this past week, in announcing his signing of a new law called the Press Freedom Act refused to answer any reporters questions and abruptly left them standing in stupefaction over the irony an ordeal that shows how far America has fallen.
Another irony apparently lost upon the American people is that their President Obama, who has been dubbed “The Great Communicator”, now holds the dubious distinction of having held less press conferences than any American President in modern history. And if yesterday’s press conference, his first in nearly a year, was any example one can see why as incredulous press corps was left astounded that Obama had no knowledge of the firing/resignation of one of his top officials.
In all of these events one fact, beyond all others, stands out….in what was once called “The Land of the Free, And the Home of the Brave”…..the United States today has become “The Land Of Slave, And the Home of the Coward”….and these Americans have only themselves to blame.

The Communist have coveted the power of America for so many years, that when they finally obtained it through stealth theft by usurpation by Obama, they became intoxicated. Dr. Kate is quite correct by saying in essence they will do anything to keep it.
When they chose the Obamas to be their puppet figure heads, they truly believed the Obamas were so cute and charming that Americans would simply coo and awe over the darling couple and forgive the questions of his eligibility while they overtly dismantled America. One of the X factors they never anticipated that came forward was the Tea Party. They also didn’t anticipate the monumental challenge to his birth certificate and other documents. That challenge and the Tea Party have been the fly in their ointment ever since. The pressures this has caused for the usurper assassin have pushed them into a corner. That makes them extremely dangerous.
The creating and funding of OWS that appears to have world wide sympathy is being paid for by our tax money stolen from America by Obama. The well organized global protest, though kept secret– is Muslim cooperation organized. This entire protest with its fake grievances and phony purpose is a false flag–as already mentioned. It also is more. It is a red flag to America that they are planning something far worse for middle America. They are planning to remove us from our homes, confiscate our real and personal property, and ultimately murder us. The proof of this is in Janet Napolitano’s Homeland Security Report that was issued to police captains across America in early 2009. In it she names us as the home land terrorists-by calling those who believe too much in the Constitution terrorists. That report has set up the legalization for them to shoot us on site if they claim we are too unruly in public or whatever. It may also legitimize entering our homes and seizing property without a search warrant.
The second red flag as what they will do if we fail to get the assassination usurper and his gang out, are the FEMA camps. We need to learn more and expose them. Why are they there? Why so many?
The third red flag regarding Obama’s Marxists plans for us, is the corruption of the entire judicial system starting with Elena Kagen, Sonia Sotomayer and the rest of the Supreme court dishonorables. This goes along with all the people in power and with power who have looked the other way and have done nothing. You can be certain when the genocide begins, they won’t be the ones sent to a FEMA camp. They will be the one who knew they were guilty the first time they sentenced an innocent man.

No question we are in grave trouble in this country, but we need to separate truth from what is questionable. The European Times is NOT a reliable source of news and especially the author of much, if not all, that is written there – Sorcha Faal, who has been outed to be a flake. That article appeared May, 2010. This Faal person is a sensational writer and doesn’t have info based on FACTS.
Hey, I agree with the concept that we patriots are on a “list”, but when we carry this beyond present reality, it could get dangerous and inflammatory. Any time Russian officials (quoted in the article) have so much to say about America I get nervous. They do NOT have our best interest at heart. Someone needs to research the present status of the “Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act”.

Joe McCarthy was the bad guy, when, although his methods were maybe too forceful, it was he who tried to expose communists in the government. We patriots who understand what was really going on in those days know that if he had been allowed to continue the exposure, we wouldn’t have so many “reds” in high government offices today. It was Mahru who said that they paid Alsammarae the $1.5 million dollar bribe which I assumed was the money Frawley spoke of in the deposition….Where is Mahru? Is he still walking around?
