Hillary Clinton announced on Saturday, June 7, 2008, that she is suspending her campaign. She will maintain control of her delegates. Hillary endorsed Obama and asked all to join her in working hard for Obama.
Hillary was forced to support Obama in this speech by the DNC. However, she spoke mainly of the Democrat Party and the desire to put a Democrat in the White House. She also spoke of women and their rights. She mentioned that the 18 million votes she got was a crack in the wall blocking women.
Damn!
Lots of shots across his bow.
In code.
That just made me sick!!!!!!!!
annie.
Don’t be discouraged.
As the commentators on Fox said and I also noted. There were 2 speeches. The first, about Obama, was about 5 minutes. This is the one the DNC forced her to give. The rest of the time she spoke about herself, the Democratic Party and women making strides. She spoke about the 18 million votes she got being a crack in the wall blocking women.
And remember……Obama has not been nominated!
hey wells,
why did you suspend comments on larry’s site?
Murray is the admin over at Hillary Clinton Forum, and I trust his judgement a lot more than I trust Obama’s.

I was thinking the same thing, but it helps to hear my thoughts echoed here.
I found myself not being able to listen to her speech after awhile, as it seemed she really didn’t believe her own words.
But, you’re right, she did what she had to do.
P.S. And I trust Citizen Wells, too.

Have YOU ever thought of running for President?
Hi CW,
I agree the speech was great and still leaves open doors:

Sen. Hillary Clinton is planning on “suspending” her campaign today, not closing it.
There’s a lot of buzz in Democratic circles about what this means, since there’s a lot of buzz that Clinton has floated the idea to friends that she wants a roll call vote of her delegates at the convention, supposedly for Chelsea’s sake.
There’s a lot of pushback to that idea, as you might imagine.
Suspending the campaign as opposed to shuttering it, though, will allow her to try to retire her more than $30 million in debt (if you include the at least $11.5 million she and Bill Clinton lent her campaign).
It doesn’t really mean much in terms of this “What if it turns out Barack Obama is really a cyborg” fatalism. Whether or not her campaign has been suspended, she would have a rightful claim to the nomination if Obama self-immolated and the party suddenly needed a sub.

Yes, please don’t give up on Hillary.
Is Larry OK. I got nervous when everything
is at a stand still over there.
Everyone try to have a good week-end.
Positive energy flows the best!!!
As the tears streamed down my face,
as I listened with every fibre in my being,
it was the only phrase that meant anything,
the most important phrase ….
“suspend my campaign”.
Hope many who do not check online frequently,
understand that distinction!
Thank you Citizen, for extendinding and leaving that rope of Hope, ………no Faith, ……..to us from earlier this week.
Left an earlier post on here but I guess CW has his hands full. Hello Family.
Hi CitizenWells – I posted on LS at 7:48 pm. Is my suggestion possible?
A couple of the blogs that were Hillary friendly seems to have written her obituary after her speech. They appear to be confused about the two words, “concede versus suspend”. They are saying that it is over. Although it was extremely difficult to watch her speech without tears, I believe like you CW, that she had to do what she had to do to satisfy the DNC. I know she felt humiliated, but she is strong and she is probably over it by now and has moved on to the next stage of her suspended campaign. I bless her heart.
CW, please know that I appreciate all the work you are doing for Larry. I believe his story will be reported soon. You and Larry are two peas in a pod. I adore both of you.
I visit your site often during the day and was lost the other day when your account was suspended. Keep up the good work, take care to be safe, don’t forget to eat, and God bless you.
diogenes2008.
If you comment it to me I will forward it.
I will then delete the comment.
annie.
You are too kind.
Have I ever thought of running for president?
Well, a person has got to be a little crazy and
a bit of a masochist to want the presidency.
I would do it if asked, but God help those running for and achieving it.
God help us if we don’t stop Obama.
Thanks for all the kind words.
You are good people.
Never forget that.
Good people can accomplish great things.
I do believe the hand of God touches this world.
Well,
We heard a speech today. We were asked to votefor BO. But I am sorry to say Hillary that I did not vote for the Party I was voting for a woman that I believed in and believed could help America. I will not under any circumstances vote for BO. I will vote for McCain. I pray the tape comes out and Sinclair is given his day before August. Then Hillary will be given what is hers and it will be no one elses fault but BO’s. Please what can we all do to get these important issues in the public news?
I was at the speech today in DC. It was hard to hear, but still wonderful to be there, despite the tears.
I adore Hillary. She’s the best, better than all the rest.
p.s. Citizenwells, I’m glad the site is up again.
Don’t know how this is going to work , but here’s my best try:
Taking TOL’s language, with minor modifications to blur the characters a bit more, then using it as the premise for an online statistical research project where only age group and gender need be given. Multiple questions (can’t give away scope and content here) and FREE ONLINE GIFT (again, can’t giveaway concept here) End result is exposure of Obama
hey what was the word on your blog disappearing?
peace
Not at all Citizen. I see I am far from alone in my admiration for you. I have read many beaming comments about you on different blogs, including Larry’s, you have really touched the hearts of many. I am honored to be your friend:)
BHO was selected; HRC was elected. If Karma plays out sooner, rather then later, Hillary Rodham Clinton will have the final say by unlocking the White House doors in January of 2009!!!
The petition circulating against Howard Dean offers a great way to reach new people and the comment space will be seen directly by everyone who signs it. Then it goes to Howard.
The things at stake:
Speaking by telephone to an April 28 fundraising party for London high society and 200 wealthy American expatriots, Senator Obama said America’s “special relationship” with Britain needs to be “recalibrated” so that America more often follows London’s lead. “I was brought up by an expatriate,” Obama added, “and I know what it’s like to look at the world differently.” The event at the home of Elisabeth Murdoch, daughter of British empire media mogul Rupert Murdoch, was strictly closed to reporters. But the Guardian and Daily Telegraph have printed accounts leaked by some of the guests.
The Telegraph reports that Obama advisers told the meeting that America should listen to Britain “and in some cases, follow London’s, rather than Washington’s lead on issues of foreign policy cooperation.”
The London Guardian, one of two British papers which today published source reports of Obama’s remarks, reported that he “has long been seen by British officials as the most anglophile of the three remaining presidential candidates; but these latest comments are his first public suggestion that the relationship is unequal and ripe for change.”
An Obama advisor elaborated the projected new U.S.-UK partnership to the Guardian: “We have a chance to recalibrate the relationship and for the United Kingdom to work with America as a full partner. It’s no longer going to be that we are in the lead and everyone follows us. Full partners not only listen to each other, they also occasionally follow each other.” Obama’s statements got him $400,000 in campaign contributions.
