………….Paul Manafort convicted on 10 counts using PRESENT DAY tax law. Manafort’s alleged crimes occurred 12 years ago, under different tax laws which no longer exist. He should have been tried using the tax, and financial laws of 2006. In the interim a helluva lot changed in business taxation and administration. Paula Duncan was one of the jurors. Sadly there were NO PROFESSIONAL ACCOUNTANTS on the jury. Because of the nature of the case there should have been either a professional accountant on the jury, or a certified deposition from a professional business accounting firm should have been submitted as evidence by the defense. That is why I have said the trial was handed to 12 people who had no specific 2006 business tax administrative understanding, nor did any of the jurors possess any advanced banking law education. Manafort was judged by 12 people who were simple lay people, which should never have happened. I believe that Manafort has a very strong appeals court case………and hopefully his lawyers will take the case to the appellate court, or even to the SCOTUS if necessary. The trial was a KANGAROO court.
