NC unemployment rate of 9.4 among worst in nation, 9 plus percent at least for the rest of the year, Appalachian State professor, Nearly 10000 workers left labor force between April and May

“The United States economy has lost more jobs than it has added since the recovery began over a year ago.”…NY Times Sept. 20, 2010.

“Guilford (Large NC County) appears on it’s way to a third consecutive year with annual jobless rates in double digits. Economists say that likely hasn’t happened since the Great Depression.”…Greensboro News Record December 2, 2011

“the Times of the nineteenth of December had published the official forecasts of the output of various classes of consumption goods in the fourth quarter of 1983, which was also the sixth quarter of the Ninth Three-Year Plan. Today’s issue contained a statement of the actual output, from which it appeared that the forecasts were in every instance grossly wrong. Winston’s job was to rectify the original figures by making them agree with the later ones.”…George Orwell, “1984″

The Democrat Convention in Charlotte, NC should be extremely interesting. Of course Obama can outdo any character in “1984” when it comes to Owellian lies. He will of course “rectify” all of the factual numbers.

From the Greensboro News Record June 16, 2012.

“North Carolina’s unemployment rate was unchanged last month at 9.4 percent, breaking a four-month streak of declining unemployment rates, state officials said toay.

The total number of unemployed North Carolinians dropped by almost 4,000 people, but the rate remained the same because the size of the work force got smaller.

The rate was previously unwavering at 10.7 percent between July and September, but had been gradually declining since October.

North Carolina’s May unemployment rate is 1.1 percentage points lower than its May 2011 rate. The state fares worse than the national rate, which rose slightly to 8.2 percent in May.

“The NC state economy is continuing to not grow at a sufficient enough rate to put much of a dent in the unemployment rate,” said Harry Davis, professor of banking at Appalachian State University. “We simply are not creating enough jobs to lower the unemployment rate and absorb people entering the labor force.”

The largest job creation was in the Trade, Transportation and Utilities sector, which added nearly 2,000 jobs. Government jobs slightly declined by about 700 positions. Davis noted continued declines in the construction and leisure sectors as particularly problematic.

“It’s not making the comeback needed to get the unemployment rate down very much,” Davis said of the construction industry. “It continues to flounder, and if it wasn’t for apartment buildings there wouldn’t be much going on right now.”

The size of the work force in North Carolina continues to shrink. Nearly 10,000 workers left the labor force between April and May.

“Unfortunately, I believe we’re going to live with an unemployment rate in the 9 percents for quite some time, at least for the rest of the year,” Davis said. “Hopefully, that’s not the new norm.”

State Republicans quickly capitalized on the report, localizing national trends of both parties feuding over the North Carolina economy. Both the Romney and Obama campaigns have targeted North Carolina as a November battleground state and have been flooding the state with high-profile political figures to talk economics.

Republican gubernatorial candidate Pat McCrory and the Republican Governors Association issued press releases after the unemployment figures were released, criticizing Democratic gubernatorial candidate Walter Dalton’s economic views.”

Giving jobs to illegal aliens should help the unemployment rate in NC. Ask Obama to explain how that works.

I don’t know how it works in your neck of the woods, but here in Reno NV, if the illegals and their descendents were removed from our schools, the teachers wouldn’t have any students to teach.

    Seaque and J.S.,

Pertaining to VW not being able to sell the Passat (or any VW product including VW family product autos) to Americans and forced to ship only overseas is highly Bullsh*t and an outright lie.

To include to your ignorance, the Passat nor the GTI gets nearly 80 mpg at normal operation, that is a lie.

You two would believe anything, I swear…

William. Neither put any forethought into what they post and the only narrative that they put forth is the fact that they are both bewildered and don’t know where to turn. So they listen to crackpots and regurgitate without a clue.

80.7 mpg and 91 g/km: Volkswagen launches most efficient Polo yet
    ………………………………………………

    Passat

A standard production Passat BlueMotion entered the record books in October 2010 after covering a distance of 1,527.63 miles on a single tank of fuel, achieving an average 89.83 mpg. Not wanting to rest on the laurels of the previous generation, Volkswagen has now added a BlueMotion model to the seventh-generation Passat range which is even more efficient. Prices start at £19,875 for the saloon and rise to £21,180 for the Estate.

JUST out…..send this far and wide……

    Ron Paul Officially Wins Iowa!!!

  4. Thanks seaque…..I guess CW finally let one of my comment about the DOC go through….of course then he made a new thread right after that!

  5. JS. Why do you post here if you have so much disdain for the blog owner and most of the people who comment here?

  6. With unemployment extremely high in nearly all 50 states along comes Soetoro and allows OVER 800,000 illegals to stay, and even gives them EXEMPTION from deportation status. Newsman asked him about it and Soetoro literally came unglued. Yet LIKE ALWAYS……NOBODY has gotten off their a$$es to try to do anything about it. So all of you who are earning over $250,000.00 per year, and JUST DON’T HAVE TIME to even look to see who is in the WH, and what he is doing ……….just keep pursuing the American dream, and before long you could end up looking down the barrels of a couple of Government .45s which will be pointed at you by people who have been ordered to run you off of your own property, because it is their intention to take your property and give it to some DOPE user deviate, who refuses to work, or do anything constructive. Take a look at what FIDEL done to Cuban property owners so many years ago. Could happen in the US, if we are unsuccessful in November in voting that MORON out.

  7. Gezzz,

First and foremost Seaque and J.S., that record was not done on normal driving conditions for the record. Secondly, it is the GTI with the DTI engine that holds the highest performance, which receives around 800 miles “Per tank of gas”, and a slight hint, its not a 10 gallon tank.

In addition, the TDI engine in the Passat, gets slightly less than that, around 740 miles per tank.

Lastly, you falsely claim that no American is allowed to purchase a VW, Passat or otherwise. I suggest you simply call your local VW dealership and ask them if you must show your “Non-American” Citizenship status prior to purchase.

Funny thing about it, I didn’t nor was I asked. (Slight hint)

…perhaps Zimbabwe (formerly Southern Rhodesia)…would give a more current perspective. They didn’t think it could happen to them either. I wonder why we keep seeing such things as FALN popping up whenever a legitimate country loses it’s sovreignty. By the way,Cuba was involved in that little fiasco as well.

In Zimbabwe, it was the majority black vote that caused the final collapse and put Mugabe into power. Although the government was still a parliamentary system, he had total control by way of the vote….and, of course, manipulation of the polls. In case there are those who are unaware of what happened after that, Mugabe totally destroyed an absolutely beautiful country, economically, by looting the treasury as well as the private bank accounts of both companies and private citizens. Private property of companies and private citizens was also confiscated.I might mention here, also, that the black vote there was the equivalent of the Hispanic, Black, and non-white vote here….even now as I speak. Don’t think for a second it can’t happen, and is not happening, here as well. Mugabe rode the coattails of the Communist Party, disguised as something else of course, until he had enough control to finally sieze absolute power. Even though there is still a vote, it has no real meaning. It is absolutely frightening to see the similarities here, especially when considering the ties bo professes to have to Black Africa. Could Zimbabwe actually be the model in play here?…Kenya?…Congo?…??? Northern Rhodesia (Zambia) experienced a similar fate at an earlier time. The difference was that Southern Rhodesia unilaterally declared it’s independence in 1970. By the way, seeking help from non other than Jimmy Carter….think they got it?

  10. William,
Thanks for setting the record straight re. VW. It is getting so tiresome to see such twisted information spawned so freely by some who don’t have the discernment to know the difference between true and false. Furthermore, there seems to be inordinate delight in trashing capitalists.

  11. Obarky = electric chair

    Mittens = Lethal Injection

    Ron Paul = ESCAPE

  12. OMG….seaque you are a bit twisted

  13. seaque | June 16, 2012 at 9:39 pm |

Seaque, if this is where your support for Ron Paul has led you, you had better do some reconsidering. You are definitely not helping his cause with this kind of rubbish. Lay off of it, for pity sakes.

  14. Cabby,

You are certainly more than welcome for the true information pertaining to VW. No, VW is not banned from selling any of its autos to Americans. Someone over on the RAP website most likely (as usual) made up a whopper of a story and instead of utilizing their God given brains to create a simple synopsis and verify the source (would have taken less than 60 sec.) they attempt to spread the conspiracy lies all over the internet. Bunch of moonbats….

The beautiful thing about the VW Passat is that you have 3 different engine options, the mpg saver is the TDI Diesel engine of which gets about 760 miles per tank of diesel fuel. Its a 16.4 gallon tank, so the moonbats can do the math. The GTI with the same Diesel engine gets the better mileage than the Passat simply because it is a much lighter and smaller car, where the Passat is a mid-size sedan – larger and heavier. Still, they are both wonderfully built and excellent mpg.

Just for a piece of information. VW built its plant in Chattanooga TN so that it could knock off about 7-10 grand on the Passat. Approximately 85% of the raw materials came from the United States, so why not build the plant in the United States? That was their business reasoning behind it. It saved them on all the logistical costs and import/export taxes. Now they can better compete in cost with its competitors by having it here in the United States.

Currently, the VW plant is expanding quickly. They just hired 1000 more employees for another shift. They also got a Stamping Plant approved and will break ground in 2013 – complete in 2014 and will need a couple of thousand more employees. After that, will come an engine plant.

On a last note, I was about to explain to Seaque and J.S. exactly how I know so much about the VW, but held off. Of course you and SueQ know and that is sufficient enough.

  15. William………………..
The wind blew, the manure flew, and there stood a BSer. Anybody in their right mind would have remembered that there are hundreds of VW dealerships throughout the US,all of whom will in fact sell you any VW built vehicle you want. Yet given the present leadership of the US literally anything can happen, even including VW being banned from selling vehicles in the US……..even though the notion is totally absurd.

  16. William…………..
Work on the 20KW progressing slowly…..but nonetheless progressing. Engine nearly completed.

  17. William……………….
Do you suppose that some of the ILLEGALS in the US might possess enough intellectual capacity to allow them to become employees of VW at some point in the future. I would venture to guess that it is entirely possible that some of the illegals might even possess a higher intellectual capacity, than a hell of a lot of OUR OWN……drugheads, and dropouts, many of whom don’t even know the difference between a pair of pliers, and a screwdriver,or UP and DOWN.

  18. William……………..
Fiat is now building a 500cc turbocharged engine which they are putting in a vehicle about the size, and weight of a Ford Focus. The preliminary information that I have seems to imply that it competes very well with all of our own lightweight vehicles in every quarter except weight. Start adding weight to the load that the engine must move, and the fuel efficiency goes right out the window. Weight is the tattletale.

  19. Coldwarvet……………………….
Like you I believe that the country we share has been weakened so badly from within, that literally ANYBODY could stage a COUP DE ETAT, and probably without even ONE person getting off their ASS to defend this country. They are TOO BUSY HAVING FUN, doing drugs, and watching porn………or simply NOTHING at all.

  20. Good Morning, CW, William, Old Salt and others who have yet to appear today!
Thanks for the additional, reliable info on VW, William! I just knew there was a lot more to the real, true story…… For some, it is easier to believe a lie than the truth.
HAPPY FATHERS DAY to all you great dads out there!! Have a wonderful day!

  21. Coldwarvet……………
Here is an afterthought regarding the dilemma which the US is now involved in……….You and I know first hand what the ramifications will be if NOTHING is done to put the US back under Constitutional government control. While I was a mere child during the thirties I was old enough to understand what was going on during WW2. Had any other circumstances prevailed WW2 could easily have become OUR DOWNFALL. Sadly nobody seemed to think about that possibility. Germany and Japan both were progressing RAPIDLY in technology which could have changed the course of that war. Fortunately they were too late, with too little. The war that we are now in is one of DECEIT, back room deals, and criminals leading our government. We know how to fight conventional wars, but we do not seem to possess the level of intelligence necessary to even understand what we are up against now, or fight the perpetrators. Perhaps there are too few of us who do see through it all……..in which case our survival as a country is definitely in question.

  22. …………you can talk until hell freezes over to a brick wall. It will not respond! It seems as though the people of America have become bricks.
