One of Rep. Ron Paul’s (R-Texas) pet issues will hit the spotlight this July, as House Republican leaders plan to hold a vote on authorizing a top-to-bottom audit of the Federal Reserve.
In a memo to Republican members sent Friday, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) unveiled the GOP majority’s plan for the months leading up to the fall elections. Among a “busy legislative agenda,” including bills tackling healthcare, domestic energy production and taxes, Paul’s 300-word measure has carved out a spot on the docket.
The bill is currently pending before a House Oversight subcommittee, but has garnered a substantial number of sponsors — 227 in all, including several committee chairmen. And while Fed-bashing became a popular activity on the GOP primary campaign trail, not all the bill’s backers are Republicans. Several Democrats, such as Reps. Peter DeFazio (Ore.) and Dennis Kucinich (Ohio), are among those pushing for a Fed audit.

It seems a fair assessment to say that Bennett is a young whippersnapper with future political aspirations (wants to seek the governorship someday) who really only got involved with the eligibility issue to woo his electoral base but was completely insincere and inexperienced in the matter. Jackie: I am sorry, but let’s agree to disagree. Dr. Paul does not appeal to all. His newsletters published under his name are highly offensive to many, and his stances for legalizing pot, legalizing gay marriage, etc., plus his isolationist foreign policy is troubling to many. He may appeal to the far left and far right, but that won’t win an election.

Just received my sample ballot for the NJ primary. It’s usually been all said & done by the time we get to vote here. It has Romney & Paul on it, but Gingrich & Santorum are still on it, too. They must have been printed some time ago.

1) Only in America could politicians talk about the greed of the rich at a $35,000 a plate campaign fund raising event.
2) Only in America could people claim that the government still discriminates against black Americans when we have a black President, a black Attorney General, and roughly 18% of the federal workforce is black. 12% of the population is black.
3) Only in America could we have had the two people most responsible for our tax code, Timothy Geithner, the head of the Treasury Department and Charles Rangel who once ran the Ways and Means Committee, BOTH turn out to be tax cheats who are in favor of higher taxes.
4) Only in America can we have terrorists kill people in the name of Allah and have the media primarily react by fretting that Muslims might be harmed by the backlash.
5) Only in America would we make people who want to legally become American citizens wait for years in their home countries and pay tens of thousands of dollars for the privilege while we discuss letting anyone who sneaks into the country illegally just become American citizens.

10) Only in America could the rich people who pay 86% of all income taxes be accused of not paying their “fair share” by people who don’t pay any income taxes at all.
It really doesn’t matter how many *know* Ron Paul will not get the GOP nomination. Should I care? Should I hold my nose and vote for another pansy like McCain who, like Romney, thinks Obama is a “nice guy”!

Tomorrow I will go about a half mile to the Harley Davidson dealer in Fairfax, Va and watch about 10,000 motor cycles head down route 50 to the Pentagon and there form up with thousands more to start their drive through Washington. Rolling Thunder does this every year and several years ago Nancy Sinatra rode on the back of the founder-leader’s bike. They were ushered right into the gate of the Whitehouse to meet President George Bush. They have not been back since.

I assume this post is directed to me.
And what exactly do you hope to accomplish by writing in Ron Paul’s name? Is it a form of protest on your part? Do you realize that a vote for anyone other than the nominee is a vote FOR Obama?
If Obama wins again people like you, Kath, who chose another candidate from left field will be blamed; not those of us who are trying to get the usurper the hell out of the White House!
If Paul were the nominee, I’d support him, even thought I don’t like his platform. The goal is to get barky out!

I have a brother who voted for Bo because he hated Bush…..a number of his friends felt the same way. That number grew exponentially…..look how that ended up, and what it cost.
McCain, with all his faults, would not (and most probably could not) have done anywhere near the damage that Bo hand his handlers (the DNC) have done to this country.
I believe that you “get it”…
With so many non-choices, we only have a chance to be partially right no matter who we choose. But, we had better be right, meaning not Bo, (the DNC scares me even more)…there will be no second chances. Believe me when I say, the communists have their toe in the door and they are going to be pushing with everything they have. Fair play?…forget about fair play and nice guys. This is politics without the mask. All (and I mean ALL) is fair this time around. The other side has laid down the ground rules. We didn’t pick this fight, but we are in it whether we like it or not.
What we have in our administration is a runaway train headed for a cliff. We haven’t even stopped it yet, let alone even begun to think about backing it up. We are so far off course now, that we desparately NEED a business man (or woman) anyway, someone with a LOT of experience with business and corporate management. Someone that at least has a basic understanding of economics and how those economics work on both a global and domestic scale. Someone with the deep pockets and connections that it will take to unseat a corrupted system.
If this person gets in (and that still remains to be seen), then we will at least have the time it will take to find ourselves a more suitable candidate. Hopefully we have learned that, although we may not like politics, it will be more like eating our peas, we had better somehow learn to do it…or be prepared to pay the price.
It just makes me sick to see Obama giving a speech on memorial day, that guy is nothing but an ingrate.
