I was listening to the “news” on Friday and heard that the financial markets had reacted to a report that new home sales were up in November.

“Americans probably bought more homes in November, but 2011 likely will end up as the worst year for new-home sales since the government began keeping records in 1963.
Sales last month are expected to rise to a seasonally adjusted annual pace of 312,000, according to a survey of economists by FactSet. That’s less than half the 700,000 that economists say must be sold to sustain a healthy housing market.
The Commerce Department will release the report on Friday morning.
In October, new-home sales rose 1.3 per cent to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 307,000. But the median price fell to its lowest level of the year: $US212,300 ($A210,200).
The year’s sales pace is trailing last year’s total of 323,000 new homes sold, the fewest on record.
Economists say housing is a long way from fully recovering. Builders have stopped working on many projects because it’s been hard for them to get financing or to compete with cheaper resale homes. For many Americans, buying a home remains too big a risk more than four years after the housing bubble burst.
Even so, home construction has begun a gradual comeback and should add to economic growth in 2011. The main reason is that the rate of apartment construction is nearly twice as fast as it was two years ago.
And rising interest from would-be buyers left US homebuilders less pessimistic about the housing market in December, according to the National Association of Home Builders/Wells Fargo builder sentiment index. It rose two points this month, reaching its highest level since May 2010.
Though new-home sales represent less than 10 per cent of the housing market, they have an outsize impact on the economy. Each home built creates an average of three jobs for a year and generates about $US90,000 in tax revenue, according to the National Association of Home Builders.
Home prices have tumbled, the job market remains weak and unemployment is still high at 8.6 per cent. Some people who want to buy can’t qualify for a loan or make the higher downpayments that banks are demanding.”

Did you see where the National Association of Realtors has advised that many home sales were double counted..”OF COURSE BY ACCIDENT”,and this is the reason why that the number of new homes sold was actually very substantially lower. I would be remiss if I didn’t point out that even the National Association of Realtors is filled with LIBERALS who would say that HELL just froze over if they thought people would believe them. Maybe that is one reason why home sales did in fact decline……….the UP is DOWN people bought the story hook line and sinker, and the National Association of Realtors now have EGG on their faces. No way to hide that one!.

Did you know that our First Lady Michelle Obama lost her law license back in 1993? Oh sure I knew that, “NOT.” Sure, I saw this on the front page of the New York Times during the elections of 2008, “NOT.” I’ve listed below from the State of Illinois’s website of the court action against Michelle forcing her to give up her license. It’s understood that in the box attacked below under Malpractice Insurance – “No malpractice report required as attorney is under court order inactive status.”
In other words Michelle was under court order to give up her license and is not allowed to practice law in Illinois, period. I hate to use this word but its “rumored” that she was extorting clients. Again, it’s “rumored!” It’s also “rumored” that our President Barack Obama may have been disciplined for not divulging other names that he has used in the past. That really concerns me. He also has an inactive Illinois license to practice law (listed below).
This is so unfortunate for the Obama’s, after all they are our first family and he is the first black/white President of the United States but I can’t stop thinking that this guy and his wife are not who they say they are. They don’t seem to uphold the integrity of our past first families, yes, even Richard Nixon for all you lefties out there.
The more I find on the Obamas, the more I feel that the FBI when doing their background check must have been sleeping at the switch. My research is finding reputable sources disclosing many of their past discretion’s and questionable acquaintances.
Obamas background is questionable enough but do we now have to worry about his wife, also? My god do we have a den of thieves living in the White House?

You may want to read the Constitution, and you won’t have to read very far, because the First Amendment of the Bill of Rights states we have the RIGHT to watch or read whatever we want.
And the ONLY people who believe Paul is “dangerous” are the ones who believe that we should insist to the point of threatening with military action, and then making good on that threat, whenever our “vision” of the World isn’t followed. What arrogance you exude.
You know Tina, the TRUTH is that you have been TRAINED to be afraid of someone like Paul, who actually wants us to get back to the foriegn policy of what the Founders envisioned (You may want to read the Monroe Doctrine), and to make people RESPONSIBLE for their own actions.
So long as your RIGHT to do something does NOT infringe on someone else’s RIGHT (and Tina, you don’t have the “right” to breath smoke free air, sorry but you simply don’t, even though you have been TRAINED to believe that you do), your INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS should NOT be restricted.

Interested Bystander, with all due respect not everyone here agrees with your libertarian views. I try to be open minded when reading your posts, but the idea that anyone can do just about anything they want is even a radical view for libertarians.
Paul believes that the states have the right to enact whatever laws they desire and that the people want. You sound as though you are not even in favor of that.
It does no good to debate this issue further. We just have to agree to disagree on Paul. He may win the Iowa caucus vote, but from there on his days are numbered.
The country as a whole does not (and never did) want legalized drugs, prostitution, etc. Go back to the writings of our Founding Fathers. They did not all share the same religious beliefs, but they certainly were not in favor of unlimited personal behavior.
