Obama tax lies, Jobs speech, Warren Buffett hypocrisy, Tax Policy Center 46 percent pay no federal income taxes

“Data: The rich actually do pay more taxes”
“President Barack Obama makes it sound as if there are millionaires all
over America paying taxes at lower rates than their secretaries.
“Middle-class families shouldn’t pay higher taxes than millionaires
and billionaires,” Obama said Monday. “That’s pretty straightforward.
It’s hard to argue against that.”
The data tell a different story. On average, the wealthiest people in
America pay a lot more taxes than the middle class or the poor,
according to private and government data. They pay at a higher rate,
and as a group, they contribute a much larger share of the overall
taxes collected by the federal government.
There may be individual millionaires who pay taxes at rates lower than
middle-income workers. In 2009, 1,470 households filed tax returns
with incomes above $1 million yet paid no federal income tax,
according to the Internal Revenue Service. That, however, was less
than 1 percent of the nearly 237,000 returns with incomes above $1
million.
In his White House address Monday, Obama called on Congress to
increase taxes by $1.5 trillion as part of a 10-year deficit reduction
package totaling more than $3 trillion. He proposed that Congress
overhaul the tax code and impose what he called the “Buffett rule,”
named for billionaire investor Warren Buffett.
The rule says, “People making more than $1 million a year should not
pay a smaller share of their income in taxes than middle-class
families pay.”
“Warren Buffett’s secretary shouldn’t pay a higher tax rate than
Warren Buffett. There is no justification for it,” Obama said. “It is
wrong that in the United States of America, a teacher or a nurse or a
construction worker who earns $50,000 should pay higher tax rates than
somebody pulling in $50 million.”
Buffett wrote in a recent piece for The New York Times that the tax
rate he paid last year was lower than that paid by any of the other 20
people in his office.
This year, households making more than $1 million will pay an average
of 29.1 percent of their income in federal taxes, including income
taxes and payroll taxes, according to the Tax Policy Center, a
Washington think tank.”
“The Tax Policy Center estimates that 46 percent of households, mostly
low- and medium-income households, will pay no federal income taxes
this year. Most, however, will pay other taxes, including Social
Security payroll taxes.”

“How Much is Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway Back-Tax Bill Exactly? About $1 Billion”
“On Monday, The Blaze reported that Warren Buffett’s company, Berkshire Hathaway, owes back taxes dating to 2002. The news is significant because in a recent op-ed column for the New York Times, Buffett, one of President Obama’s staunchest supporters, stated that, to now, the “super wealthy” have been coddled and deserve to be taxed at an even higher rate than they currently are.
When Buffett made his revelation earlier in the month, most assumed his company was up-t0-date on its taxes. That assumption has turned out to be incorrect, however — and to a substantial degree perhaps.
According to Berkshire’s 2010 annual report, the company has been in a near decade-long struggle with the IRS over its own taxes. Using public documents, a certified public accountant detailed Berkshire’s tax problems to Americans for Limited Government researcher Richard McCarty, revealing the damage could be close to $1 billion. Netright Daily adds:
According to page 56 of the company report, “At December 31, 2010… net unrecognized tax benefits were $1,005 million”, or about $1 billion. McCarty explained, “Unrecognized tax benefits represent the company’s potential future obligation to the IRS and other taxing authorities. They have to be recorded in the company’s financial statements.”
He added, “The notation means that Berkshire Hathaway’s own auditors have probably said that $1 billion is more likely than not owed to the government.”
$1 billion is not an insignificant chunk of change, even for Buffett, representing about 0.2 percent of the company’s $372 billion in total assets.
The annual report goes on to state: “We anticipate that we will resolve all adjustments proposed by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service (‘IRS’) for the 2002 through 2004 tax years at the IRS Appeals Division within the next 12 months. The IRS has completed its examination of our consolidated U.S. federal income tax returns for the 2005 and 2006 tax years and the proposed adjustments are currently being reviewed by the IRS Appeals Division process. The IRS is currently auditing our consolidated U.S. federal income tax returns for the 2007 through 2009 tax years.””
“Ironic, isn’t it? When Warren Buffett penned that op-ed demanding he be taxed more, we assumed that meant he had actually paid his taxes. Not quite the case. Buffett’s famed company, Berkshire Hathaway, owes taxes that are nearly a decade old.”

Rich people and job creators are paying most of the taxes now anyway. I know someone who makes $75K and claims dependents and is not paying any federal income taxes. So it’s mostly the rich and small business people who have the greatest tax burden already, and Obama wants more to redistribute the wealth.
Let’s lower the corporate tax rate to get more companies to return jobs to America.

When the Obama administration demanded a settlement freeze, it led to a freeze in Palestinian negotiations.
It was a mistake to agree to the Palestinians’ demand for indirect negotiations conducted through the United States. And it was an even greater mistake for President Obama to distance himself from Israel and seek engagement with the hostile regimes in Syria and Iran.
Palestinian leaders have perceived this as a weakening of relations between Israel and the United States, and are trying to exploit it. In refusing to deal with the recognition of Israel as a Jewish state, and taking this destabilizing action in the UN, the Palestinians are signaling that they have no interest in a two-state solution. The Palestinian leadership’s insistence on the so-called “right of return” of descendants of Palestinian refugees to Israel’s sovereign territory, thereby making Jews an ethnic minority in their own state, is a disturbing sign that the ultimate Palestinian “solution” remains the destruction of the Jewish state.
Since the Oslo Accords were signed in 1993, the US has provided more than $4 billion in aid to the Palestinian Authority. This year alone the Obama administration is seeking to secure $550 million in funding for Palestinians.
We should encourage Palestinians who are more interested in building a prosperous future than in fueling the grievances of the past. Our aid is, and must remain, predicated on the commitment of the Palestinian leadership to engage honestly and directly with the Israelis in negotiating a peace settlement.
Their threatened unilateral action in the United Nations, combined with their declared intention to establish a unity government with the terrorist group Hamas, signals a failure to abide by this commitment.
The United States must not condone and legitimize through our assistance a regime whose actions are in direct opposition to a peace agreement with our ally Israel, and in direct opposition to our own vital interests.

I wrote many months ago, that the entire US economy was malfunctioned because of the Obama administration. I stated, that the Stimulus was nothing more than a Crony payoff and Union bailout scheme. I also stated that the new regulations, and past criminal government activity with regards to Chrysler and GM, would have profound economic consequences because of degrading consumer confidence. Now, as more and more information comes to light it appears that our Federal Government is corrupt beyond belief with a political party of Socialists, Tax cheats, radicals, and special interests whom have started and perpetuated the current economic disasters.
The injury is deep, current process unsustainable, and I see another severe economic downturn on the horizon as Obamanomics reaches it’s pinnacle over the next 24 months. I have not seen a single new start-up business in my area in almost 3 months. Small businesses, that were staggering before, are starting to drop from sight. The Greek tragedy (no pun intended) could very well pull the free world into a depression. Obama needs to go, go quickly, and everything that is ‘Obama’ needs to be fully exposed to the American public so that recovery can begin. That recovery will start with increased consumer confidence, and that will almost immediately follow the public getting the truth and assurances about helping small businesses that employ the vast amount of Americans.
The media needs to self police itself. This will occur the moment government money is no longer used to ‘mockingbird’ reporters or stimulus used to ‘influence’ pundits. The CIA and it’s cronies have sold Americans a disaster in Obama, and exposure of this will allow the ‘sleeping economic giant’ to awaken.

Calls on Obama to keep stated promise to vets
LAKE JACKSON, Texas– The Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign today released the following Open Letter from Dr. Paul to President Barack Obama:
“Dear President Obama,
“As a Doctor, an Air Force Veteran, and Congressman, who serves on the Foreign Affairs Committee and has always fought for the best interest of our troops, I was deeply concerned to learn that our military retirees are now facing benefit cuts under your proposed $1.5 trillion dollar tax hike.
“Our military men and women have fought bravely. In exchange, our country made a promise to them, and we must honor it.
“There are trillions of dollars in unwise and unconstitutional spending we must cut. There are few other leaders in Washington willing to cut spending as deeply as I am and truly balance our budget. But, we must make sure we take care of our Veterans who fought to take care of us.
“We have put our troops in harm’s way, and we must honor our promises. And, our troops have paid a heavy price these past ten years. Over 5,000 have lost their lives in Iraq and Afghanistan, 40,000 have seen crushing injuries, and hundreds of thousands more suffer from brain injury and post-traumatic stress disorder
“Failing to meet the promises we have made to our troops would be unjust and immoral. The cuts you announced yesterday, combined with the rumored cuts in benefits reported in publications like Army Times, have our soldiers and Veterans deeply concerned.
“Mr. President, instead of cutting our Veterans benefits, I call on you to support our troops. Support them by bringing them home to our shores, to protect our borders and defend our country. Ensure that they are rested and equipped to repel any real credible attack. Re-unite them with their families. And, make sure they no longer play policeman in dangerous foreign civil wars.
“Cutting the benefits of our Veterans benefits while we subsidize the security of other wealthy nations like Germany and Japan and play World Policeman makes no sense. The money we would save extracting our fighting men and women and our equipment from overseas conflicts and regions will more than offset the savings you seek by upending the manner in which veterans receive care.
“Bringing our troops home would ensure that we keep the promise to our Veterans, strengthen our national defense and secure our borders.
“Do not mistake me for a pacifist or a person solely focused on the economics of the unsustainable global security and state-building that has helped our country arrive at the shores of financial ruin. On the contrary, I consider my military service as an Air Force flight surgeon during the Cold War to be among my highest personal and professional achievements.
“Authentic, Constitutionally-sound national security – a strong national defense – begins with guarding our borders and not the Afghanistan-Pakistan border.
“Mr. President, I call upon your to support our troops, honor our Veterans, and ensure our wounded get the care they deserve. To do so, we must end these protracted, trillion-dollar wars and bring them home.”

The Texas governor and Republican presidential hopeful dined with the conservative media mogul last night at an upscale Manhattan restaurant, according to CBS and New York Times reports.
Murdoch, who owns such media companies as Fox News and The Wall Street Journal through his media empire News Corp., ate at a steakhouse a few blocks from Murdoch’s residence, reports said. Perry has been in New York fundraising and expressing support for Israel, an issue that may be key among Jewish voters.
Murdoch has been a major financial backer of the Republican Governors Association, which Perry chaired until last month.
It’s the Texas governor’s second VIP dinner at ritzy Manhattan joints in the past few days. Last week, Perry shared a meal with billionaire developer and reality TV host Donald Trump.
