The retrial hearing for Rod Blagojevich takes place today, Thursday, August 26, 2010.

“The retrial of Rod Blagojevich could look decidedly different from the first go-around if the bombastic father-and-son team of Sam Adam and Sam Adam Jr. drop off the case, as the former governor’s lead lawyers have hinted since last week.
Both Adams have suggested they want out of a repeat performance, with the younger one telling attorneys in the case that it’s time for him and his father to move on, according to sources.
Sheldon Sorosky, another Blagojevich lawyer who could remain on a reduced two-member defense team, said Wednesday he believes the younger Adam, whom he described as a “legal Michelangelo,” may struggle to find the energy to tackle the mammoth task again.
Adam’s closing argument was marked by loud and passionate pleas, a flurry of government objections and even an apology for sweating on a juror.
Some answers could become apparent Thursday as U.S. District Judge James Zagel holds the first public status hearing since the trial ended last week, with the jury convicting Blagojevich of lying to the FBI about his knowledge of political fundraising but deadlocking on all the other 23 counts.”
“”The primary purpose (for the hearing) is to set a new trial date,” Sorosky said. “Then, as in any retrial situation, the second purpose — which this time may eclipse the first — is the lawyer situation.”
In a private conference last week with attorneys in the case, Zagel said he expects the former governor to be allowed just two lawyers for the retrial.
Blagojevich, who had seven attorneys for the first trial, has tapped out his $2.7 million campaign fund, which under Zagel’s supervision was used to pay his legal fees. Rules under the Criminal Justice Act allow a defendant whose defense is paid for with taxpayer funds to have no more than two lawyers.”

While I do not ADVOCATE violence as a solution to any problem, I WILL say that when the steam pressure reaches operational level you may well see a well armed civil army of extremely angered citizen soldiers appear over the horizon. What happened to a sitting President in another country is one thing and what will happen in the US will likely be quite another as was the case for the President of Honduras, some time back. Where it relates to Soetoro, the case is substantially different. Soetoro so far as I can see is NOT even the LEGAL President of the United States. I base this upon the notion that NO clear evidence has EVER been shown to ANYBODY in the US that Soetoro’s birthname was ever LEGALLY reinstated via a NAME CHANGE PETITION IN a COURT of LAW. This was researched for many months,and there IS NO PUBLIC RECORD of his name change having been granted in any US COURT. The court action on such a petition becomes PUBLIC INFORMATION.(YEA OR NEA.) when acted upon If this is accurate then the fact that he used the name Obama he perpetrated election fraud against the American people while his true name was still Soetoro. The American people voted for an illegal name.(Barrack Obama) This is as damning as NO LONG FORM BIRTH CERTIFICATE. He is NOT the LEGAL POTUS .At present the US does not have a LEGAL potus. So far everything he has signed, said, and done is all not binding. Everything that he has signed is also illegal,including the Healthcare Bill. Everybody needs to see this in the light of day. HOUSTON – A senior BP executive is again avoiding committing the oil giant to using relief wells to seal to the Gulf of Mexico well that blew out in April.
Senior Vice President Kent Wells on Thursday skirted questions by federal investigators on whether the oil giant will proceed with the relief wells. He told the investigators probing the April 20 explosion that killed 11 people that there are “multiple options” to stop the oil. He says the relief wells are “the ultimate backup if everything else fails.”
Retired Coast Guard Adm. Thad Allen, the government’s point man on spill response, has insisted the relief wells would be the final solution.
However, BP said in a statement that the company and Allen “remain aligned regarding relief well plans.”

WASHINGTON — Scientists heaped more criticism Thursday on the Obama administration’s claim that most of the Gulf of Mexico oil spill is gone, saying that it was too early to determine the remaining oil’s impact on the waters or marine life.
Ian MacDonald, a Florida State University oceanographer, also cast doubt on the government’s claim that oil “is biodegrading quickly” in the ocean, arguing that scientists still don’t know how fast hydrocarbon-eating bacteria are working. MacDonald, who’s 58, said the spill would remain in the Gulf in some form for the rest of his life.
“That’s a lot of oil,” he said, “and it’s not going away quickly.”

Up around Santa Barbara Cal, crude has oozed into the sea for nearly ever. Yet mother nature has been able to turn the black stuff into very heavy tarballs for a very long time. Some divers recently dove down to have a look at the botton of the Ocean in about 100 feet of water. Apparently huge tarballs have been forming and rolling down the national shelf for hundreds of years. At 100 feet they stated some are petrified into hard black rocks. Really interesting stuff. These recent dives were by people from Cal Tech.
California used to have a real problem of crude oozing to the surface at various places throughout California. A number of years back a lot of properties had to be abandoned because oil was even seeping into basements of older homes. Most of the properties were sold or leased to companies that specialised in shallow oil recovery.
Does it somehow seem that BP is afraid to penetrate the Macondo well. Do you suppose that the methane pressure could be building again. If that is the case it won’t take mother nature long to let everybody know about it. Perhaps after another couple of drilling platforms head to the bottom somebody might just figure out that mother nature doesn’t like having holes drilled in her BOSOM.

“There are several parallels to the spill,” Dr. Cake added. “We have evidence from fisherman operating in the VOO [Vessels of Opportunity] fleet and fishermen in the area who observed the spraying of dispersants by both aircraft and vessels in the immediate vicinity of the fish kills. “Local fisherman in Alabama report sighting tremendous numbers of dolphins, sharks, and fish moving in towards shore as the initial waves of oil and dispersant approached in June,” Environmentalist Jerry Cope wrote recently. “Many third- and fourth-generation fishermen declared emphatically that they had never seen or heard of any similar event in the past. Scores of animals were fleeing the leading edge of toxic dispersant mixed with oil. The Gulf of Mexico from the Source into the shore is a giant kill zone.”

Anyone paying attention knows that John McCain has been a Big-Government Globalist Neocon (BGGN) for virtually his entire senatorial career. As with many BGGNs hiding out in the Republican Party, McCain likes to talk about smaller government, but his track record is littered with the promotion of one big government program after another. But, what else would one expect from a member of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR)?
Lately, however, McCain has outdone himself. He has introduced two bills in the US Senate that are about as Machiavellian as they could be. I am referring to S.3081, a bill that would authorize the federal government to detain American citizens indefinitely without trial, and S.3002, a bill that would authorize the federal government to regulate vitamins, minerals, and virtually all health and natural food products.

I am LIVID over the above. Of course, we know he is a RINO, but, boy, the pretense we had during the primaries. I just talked to his local office about these bills he has introduced; they referred me to the DC office tomorrow. Arizona is stuck with him for another six years. (Sob!)
I just checked on the bill, S3002, which is mentioned in my last post as being introduced by Sen.McCain. His office told me sometime ago that he had pulled his support from that bill regulating vitamins, etc. Here is what I found:
“Senator McCain’s Dietary Supplement Safety Act (S. 3002) is no longer supported by McCain himself, but cannot be formally withdrawn and so remains for this session.”
So, it is still “around”, and I wouldn’t be at all surprised if McCain puts new life into it against the will of the people.

Thousands of lives along the Gulf Coast are being devastated by this disaster. This is merely the beginning of yet another toxic epoch for the Gulf of Mexico, all the humans that live along the coast, and all the marine life and wildlife that make their homes here.

Starla – Unfortunately J.D.Hayworth had some things in his past that the McCain campaign dug up. I researched those sometime ago and found those allegations were nothing really of any importance. It was the perception that McCain played on and distorted in his ads. After all, he had twenty million to pump into retaining his seat.
I like J.D. from when he was in the House, I believe, for six terms. He is honest and a true-blue conservative. He certainly won the debates with McCain hands down. Of course, I voted for him and was very sad to learn that the polls had been true. Don’t forget, he had the endorsement of Sarah Palin and other conservatives. J.D. fought a hard, courageous fight.
Patriots should follow the example of this Honorable Military Officer.

And I am frankly getting tired of hearing about Grand Juries. At this point in time and for this particular purpose, they clearly will not work. Think about this rationally. They are just another path to get to where we already are. We can turn the crank on a constitutionally allowed process (as we have already done!) and you will eventually get in front of a magistrate who will deny standing or claim lack of jurisdiction.
Several courts – including the USSC – have had multiple opportunities to grab these particular reigns and they have REFUSED! Why would they change in the future? It is just preposterous to suggest otherwise.
I don’t care how mad any of the Supremes are, I don’t care what the LA Times says – that is just posturing and huffing and puffing. No court will EVER touch this. And, like the Blago trial, even if another collateral trial even gets close, the DOJ will frag it.
In my well considered view, right now, there are only two possible non-revolutionary solutions: 1) LtC Lakin Court Martial, and 2) something yet to break in the court of public opinion. That’s it.
Then it is either submit or rebel.
Look for a big Repub win in November and the a malicious and angry Lame Duck congress to drive the final nails in our coffin.
As far as treason and treachery go, however, I think Commander Zero has finally done the deed – in blazing neon lights. I cannot believe what he did in his UN Human Rights report. One would think that would even wake up the dead and sycophantic MSM! That is bold deluxe first rate treachery! This is way worse than just simple bowing and apologies for some generic things America may or may have not done. This is chapter and verse knife in the back.

Your points are well taken, but I can see danger in making a hasty decision. We should be assessing the situation by hours and days, not weeks and months. By that I mean anticipating any kind of violent revolutionary action should be SERIOUSLY thought out, and, frankly, today is not the day, nor tomorrow, nor next week. There is among some here (not our military folks) a rather cavalier attitude re. the armed resistance that may truly come about. That attitude scares me. These folks that speak this way are still probably not fully realizing what they are thinking and saying.
If it comes to a civil war, life (for the survivors) will never be the same again and don’t expect armed rebellion to right all of the wrongs. Please don’t think I’m against war, but I am against a bunch of vigilantes taking it upon themselves to start something that they cannot finish. It will be a big free-for-all. Don’t forget our founding fathers were men of great faith and when they revolted against Great Britain they were under the command of true leaders who could lead. They were on God’s side, too.
Are we on God’s side today? He definitely is against tyranny and what this country is now enduring, but we need to seek His guidance. Take a look at the French Revolution – It did not have the outcome that ours had. The oppressed under the elite, became the oppressors once they got into power.
IMHO, what we need to do is be prepared in our hearts (and arms, etc., for those who can) that it may come to armed rebellion, BUT – and it is a big “but”, we need to exercise some patient waiting to see exactly what direction we are going to take after November. We cannot “jump the gun.” After all, from battle encounters I’ve read about (not like our veterans here who know combat) to be effective, proper timing is mandatory. If a body of soldiers is going to take a hill, it must be done exactly at the right time to be the most effective. Anyone who steps out of line to “do it on his own” can enable the enemy to have the advantage and cause soldiers lives to be lost from a foolish move.
We haven’t yet exhausted the means that our F. Fathers gave us in the Constitution to right the wrongs – to rid our government of the tyrants. We must do that first. I think we need to stop the talk of storming these public officials by armed resistance and throwing the bums in the slammer. That may be what we feel like within our hearts, but we still live in America and America still is constitutionally under the rule of law, until and unless it has been broken completely. That is not true yet, no matter how disgusted we are.

I cannot disagree with anything you say. In addition there are a number of ways to rebel without taking up clubs and grunting like cavemen. I think a widespread refusal to pay Federal Taxes is one such way.
But I am also concerned about what happens if “they” start the war. What happens if they declare martial law? What happens if they try to disarm us? These are significant near-term probabilities (months – not weeks, not years).
We also need to see what happens in the Nov elections. That is drawing near. That will also usher in the Lame Duck congress – which we need to watch like a hawk.
And PLEASE do not underestimate the magnitude of the treason Commander Zero just perpetrated with his Human Rights report.

Very salient points! If they start the war, declare martial law, or unacceptably invade our privacy, etc., then in order to protect ourselves there would have to be conflict, and it would be armed, no doubt. In order to be effective that conflict would have to be offensive, as well.
This latest from BHO (well, I haven’t read any news for a couple of hours) in contacting the U.N. to report on AZ’s immigration bill and tattle about other things “he” feels offensive about this country, just has to be one of the worst things yet. The unmitigated gall for him to subject us to the “review” of other nations is an outright assault on the sovereignty of this great country. Treason? Well, of course, SOS Hillary has gotten a small arms treaty worked out with the U.N. So…….
I cannot afford to do any wishful thinking. If things don’t change, we are headed on a collision course and that will probably result in armed conflict. May God help us! God bless America!
