Glenn Beck pay attention, Get better researchers, Radio show needs improving
Glenn Beck is likeable. I try to like Glenn Beck. I agree with many of his positions and he does a pretty good job on his Fox show. I do not listen to his radio show that often because he and his sidekicks need to grow up. He also needs some quality researchers, not the jacklegs currently working for him. Beck, et al, really screwed up on insulting concerned Americans questioning Obama’s eligibility.
I was traveling down the highway a few minutes ago and Beck and his sidekick were discussing the Chevy Volt and making stupid, ill informed remarks again. Glenn Beck actually went on to make some intelligent well informed remarks later about energy.
I can safely say that I probably know more about energy in general and in many cases specifically than Beck. Before I continue, I am not addressing government takeover of GM or other decisions made at GM. Glenn and his buddy were making immature, ignorant remarks about the Chevy Volt. They were making light of the 40 mile range on the electric power of the vehicle. They compared it to the 100 mile range of the Nissan Leaf. Indeed, that was my first reaction before I did more research and thought about it. Here is the truth about the Chevy Volt vs the Nissan Leaf.
- Most Americans, most days, drive under 40 miles.
- Whenever a longer trip is needed, the gasoline generator kicks in.
- The Volt can serve as a single car for a person or family.
- The Nissan Leaf has a range of 100 miles period before charging. Charging takes time. Lot’s of time.
- For most people, the Leaf must serve as a second vehicle.
- The Volt is the best solution for phase one fossil fuel independence.
- The Volt, covering a high percentage of days driving, will work best for most people to reduce gasoline usage.
Glenn Beck, call me. I am still waiting.
Now to give Beck credit. He spoke of the virtues of hydrogen fuel and made an intelligent comment. Off peak nuclear generation could be directed to producing hydrogen. I did not hear him say it, but wind and solar can also be used to produce hydrogen.
And Glenn Beck, the real question is why has Obama employed so many private and government attorneys to avoid presenting a legitimate birth certificate and college records?

Beck is just a “conservative” version of Keith Olberman, justing “putting on a TV Show” like Chris Matthews.
Despite the fact that he has a obession about lawyers, Michael Savage IMHO does a consistently good job.

One summer I spent several months driving with a Christian friend in a vacation all over the USA to see the different states & nature in the USA, & I didn’t have a muscle car, but I had the very best time!
I saw the most beautiful miracles of animals & the different glorious states, & I met wonderful people too! It was a great adventure & I enjoyed it truly!

Seems to match my research and investigations rather closely. The most important take-away is that there is still much uncertainty – compounded with cover-ups and hidden agendas. Ground truth is very hard to come by. At this point I tend to highly discount anyone who claims to know “the truth”.
It will be interesting to see if this whole thing just metaphorically sinks and floats away – or whether any PTB have the cajones to conduct the necessary investigations.
I also believe – while disliking the concepts of “too big to fail” and consequent “bailouts” – that it is premature to pizz on BP. They certainly SHARE in the blame and liability. But it is possible (and even likely?) that they are 2nd (or even 3rd or 4th) in the who-to-blame pecking order. There are grave economic consequences (national and global) to pinching BP. BEFORE such extreme measures, we better make sure the punishment is well-placed and worth the price.
Again and finally – much yet to be discovered – need to avoid emotional rush to judgment.

Here’s my problem – why don’t we know? why aren’t we being told the truth? what is the intent behind all of the secrecy and hiding? and throughout the three months and ten days they’ve withheld the truth, how many lives could have been saved – human and marine.
This is what bothers me. And yes, it reminds me of 9/11 and the first responders, and now, of course, the Exxon Valdez disaster where few first responders are still alive after using the toxin Corexit 9500.
Our first responders during 9/11 were breathing in asbestos at top toxicity levels. The EPA knew it, but said it was safe. There were a plethora of other toxins detected in the air as well but we can’t talk about those on this thread.
You’ll recall EPA Wittman declared the air safe to breath then too. See any similarities b/w Valdez, 9/11 and the Gulf?
If you see the similarities, then look a level deeper and you’ll see the same miscreants involved. There is a pattern emerging that is similar in all qualities except for the time period and the disaster – meaning same game plan just a different target.
I also agree that it is to early in this tragedy to assess blame on any one firm; however, BP is the one who stepped out into the public spotlight to manage this tragedy. No other company has. Therefore, they are taking the public relations hit AND must also take responsibility for all consequences that ripple outward from this disaster. Their actions certainly indicate ownership.
You and I both know, and speaking as a former professional environ/conservationist, the irreparable damage done to the food chain is unsurmountable. It will be decades before we truly understand the deep effects of this modern day disaster.

Yes, Helen, I absolutely feel that “why we don’t know” is, perhaps, the biggest problem. Our government has so deceived the public so many times in various ways that naturally we have lost trust. Without trust there is skepticism, doubt, outright disbelief, etc. It is going to take a long, long time for the necessary confidence to be restored. Helplessness and Anarchy
States have been left helpless to deal with the anarchy created by the failure of the federal government to enforce border security. Whereas yesterday it was unclear how far states (such as Rhode Island) could go, today states are powerless.
As it stands this afternoon, it is perfectly rational for someone faced with the choice of obeying the immigration laws or not, to choose not to do so. The choice of lawlessness makes a lot more sense than spending years winding through the byzantine legal immigration system, because the end result will be the same but lawlessness gets you here more quickly.

We also see them here in Australia, where they frequent the conservative blogs of Andrew Bolt and Tim Blair. Usually they are easy to spot because they constantly shill for the ALP and now they shill for the Marxist Julia Gillard who backstabbed Kevin Rudd to become the Prime Minister.
I am starting to see the troll pattern on this blog… they normally come across from Greg’s blog… and they will leave their droppings… supporting JS, defending the cop-killers, and spreading their garbage about c(rap)

Some people who post here are almost certainly Obots (maybe even paid for it). However, just because someone says something disagreeable or even irrational or loony, does not necessarily mean they are an Obot. Some people are just confused or are in breakdown (after all, the severe in-your-face antics of the Obamessiah are just about enough to destabilize anyone!). However the net result is the same – they are part of the problem and not part of the solution.
But, even so, cannot we be more civilized and stake out the high moral ground here? Is it necessary to call people names? Can we not debate the ideas and points, and stay short of name-calling?

Cyber, this is NOT a tax, per se. Forms 1099 have been used for decades to report payments made by businesses for contract labor, rents, dividends, interest and other misc. items.
HOWEVER, there is a real problem with this new requirement and you are right to point out the change. Businesses will now have to report payments made for merchandise purchases, etc., which is something that has never been required.
Believe me, it is going to be a recordkeeping nuisance and yes, nightmare, for small businesses. We certainly don’t need that impediment now with small operations already struggling.

I am deeply sadden, but not awefully suprised, that the Federal Judge put a hold od some of the AZ Illegal immigrations bill.
This “Hold” from my understanding, merely means that the Federal Judge wishes to have more time to study the parts in which she deems questionable. She most certainly did not declare them unconstitutional.
I am Proud of the State Governor for standing up for the Rights of the State and declares the States Rights will go to the SCOTUS if necessary. In which of course, the State will win, in my opinon.
As we know from the Bill of Rights, the 10 amendment, that the powers of the Federal Govenment a few – all other powers are reserved for the State and the people. Having said that, we also know that the State has the right, and moreover the Obligation to enforce Federal legislation.
The question comes to my mind is how the Federal legislation body believes it can pick and choose which Federal Laws the State should and should not enforce? This caveat position cannot be sustained by the Federal level. If so, then all States could reserve the right, for example, not to pursue any Federal Law, thus leaving the responsibilty and resourses only upon them and not the State.
That would be a devistating blow, of course one that the Supreme Court would not allow.
It will pass, of that I have no doubt. Time is of the essence though.

On a side issue, it is imparative that the States as well as the legislative body, continue to move forward with the “Sanctuary City” rules some cities are utilizing in order to harbor criminals. This is of course illegal.
What presendence would this set? Certainly if a city can declair it has a right to harbor criminals of immigrations, others could declair rights to harbor bank robbers frustrated with domestic economics, or mobsters upest as business accounting practices and tax evasion proponets.

My sentiments exactly, Sir William. To be completely frank, I was braced for something like this, although was wishing for a different outcome. This is not the trial yet, however, but it certainly seems to indicate how the judge is leaning.
Do you remember when the judge was asking certain questions a few days ago and our Governor Brewer was feeling that this indicated the judge was tending toward supporting the bill? I remember hearing some attorneys who have represented cases before the Supreme Court saying that you really can’t depend upon the type of questions to give a hint as to how the justices are leaning. In fact, just the opposite may be true. This case seems to prove that point.
Actually, I am sick at heart tonight for more than one reason. First of all, what is Arizona to do? How can we cope with this invasion? How can our people be protected and where is the money going to come from?
Secondly, I am indeed grieved for our country. This injunction (the heart of the bill) only confirms what we are fearing right along. That is, states rights are once again shoved off the table, and the feds can go on their merry way failing to enforce the immigration laws and spitting in the face of every red-blooded American.

Starla, what I am about to say is from the heart and intended to give some insight and not harm.
As we know we get into some strong discussions here, and in the process harsh things are said and sometimes tempers fly. As Citizen Carlyle pointed out, I believe, the Obama plague is enough to rattle and fray the best of us.
Most of us have received some nasty slurs and insults at some time, and we usually give a rebuttal, which is in itself OK. Where the problem arises is when we retort in the same spirit and say things that would have been better left unsaid. I’m sure that I am guilty of that.
We do have to walk a fine line. Merely standing one’s ground in a civil, respectful way is acceptable, but imo what veers us off track is losing one’s temper. Because you do express your personal faith here quite often (Starla, I have already told you I share your Christian faith), then it is unfortunate when you label folks here by calling names that you cannot prove. In fact, even if you could prove your allegations, would it be in keeping with the right spirit to embarrass someone publicly? Don’t we have to watch our demeanor and our walk? Otherwise, our religious profession loses credibility. None of us is perfect, that’s for sure.

Yes, I agree that our words do reflect more about us than we know. For example, I have sensed a real passion and sincerity from your comments and you have shown a loving spirit often in times past; also I know you love our country.
Although we may draw conclusions about another poster, I ask myself what overall benefit is to be gained by pointing out the mean spiritedness that we discern? Other than a polite rebuttal it seems that further comments don’t really do any good, do they? Most of the time it just angers the other person and causes unnecessary distress on the blog. By rendering your observation that someone is sufferring from “delusions of granduer”you have attempted to practice a level of medicine that your “nurse” liscensure does not permit in ANY state, whether you are a LPN,an RN or a NURSE PRACTIONER. Simply put you are NOT QUALIFIED TO RENDER such diagnostics. Somehow I get the feeling that if you are even a nurse you are probably a NURSE’S AID trying to be somebody you aren’t. The entire argument is extremely petty, and as many others have suggested ……..why not simply scroll past what seems to irritate you. After all that is in all probability why it was said in the first place. Most of the time responding to insidious remarks are counter productive, and only create an even greater level of hostility. As long as you know the truth, then that should be enough. I realise that sometimes I myself don’t practice what I preach………..but neither do a number of our bloggers. So what else is NEW? Otherwise I still enjoy a limited look in . I am now watching two little great grand children each day for a few hours,and they have a level of energy that I had forgotten exists. One is 5, and the lodest is 7,and literally inhale the contents of the fridge in one breath. I was a youngster in the 30s and all we had was an old style ICE BOX, which contained a huge chunk of ICE. Which was delivered every couple of days by a person with a set of ice tongs. NO ELECTRICITY NEEDED FOR THAT FRIDGE. Most of my career has been in working in a neuro unit with head trama patients… In addition, the last 17 years of my spouses life, I was a 24 hour care giver, after he suffered a brain injury, and I came home everyday after work to take care of him, as I could not find it in my heart to place him in a nursing home. I paid a retired LPN to take care of him while I was at work, as he could never be left alone…I remained loyal to him and our marriage vowels ,” in sickness and in health, till death us do part”.. until God took him to be with HIM.. Then I became engaged to a widower and for the last 2 years also took care of him until cancer took him away from me.. I am going through the grieving process and I am having a difficult time.. I also am stressed out by what is going on in America. I joined my local tea party 2 months ago, still work part time as a visiting nurse, but keeping busy does not keep me from my sorrow.. I am a very compassionate person, and after the low turn out at our tea party rally Saturday, I came home cried myself to sleep because I did not feel I was doing enough for my country….I stood for several hours at the rally in 92 degree temperatures, so I was realy trying….Then, Tuesday, for the first time in my life, I took the mic at our tea party meeting, and spoke up about my frustrations in front of our members.. I did everything I could to get them fired up… Then this morning, I (as well as others) walked in 91 degree temperature down Broadway handing out literature and invitations to our to our meetings to strangers in the street.. I then came home, took a shower, and then went to do wound care on 2 of my home care patients… So, no, I do not read all the comments in here. I come in here to read CWs very informative threads.. But the bickering in this forum so disappoints me as it takes away from the effort put forth by CW…We should NOT be bickering or telling people they are drunk or brain dead.. As my spouse was brain-injured, I can tell you it is NOT funny to be in such a position.. Now I could understand someone saying a person SOUNDS drunk. That is NOT the same as saying they ARE. Thanks for sharing some of your story. You have to be a very special person to have had such dedication to your loved ones, and I know your heart has to be very heavy. When we give of ourselves in the way that you have, our loss is even greater. May God heal your heart.
When we stop and think of it, we only know each other here at CW’s through what we write. We do not have that privilege of meeting each other face to face. Therefore, we can make statements that are not backed up with personal knowledge of another’s circumstances. That is why we all have to be careful not to make judgments that may be unfounded.
That is the reason that I felt led to speak to Starla. She has taken some abuse, but to respond with more insulting remarks – name-calling, etc., does no good. How do we know that the person we may be chastising is suffering a medical condition or going through some other personal trauma? Those are conditions we cannot be aware of on a blog like this unless they are publicly shared.
If we would always try to give the other person the benefit of the doubt – if we would always try to put the best construction on what another has said, and then respond kindly and respectfully, many of our problems would cease to exist.
That approach does not mean that we have to be “silent sues” but just that we should think through our statements before we make them. I speak to myself as much or more than to others.

I can imagine how much they remind you that we MUST do all we can to save our country. The future is theirs, and what will it be? We are truly at a very crucial time, and things aren’t looking any better.
What a sad thing to see the way Judge Bolton ruled yesterday against Arizona. I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that there isn’t a federal judge in the country that would rule against Obama. I just heard earlier that Gov. Brewer has asked for an expedited hearing by the ninth circuit, which we know will uphold the judge’s ruling. Obama seems to be on a fast track towards the destruction of America as we know it, and he couldn’t care less as to how we feel. He is tone-deaf and absolutely calloused.

I know exactly what is going to happen in the ninth circuit. They are going to UPHOLD ALL of Bolton’s findings. The thought really sickens me. It bears mute testimony to the extent of the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT corruption. We need to find another way to break the back of the beast in DC. The citizens grand jury will have very little chance either as long as the FEDERAL court system is TOTALLY corrupt. They ARE ON Soetoro’s payroll (LITERALLY). Until such time that this cycle is ended the court systems will be of little, or no help at all. I even thought for a time that if another country xcould be induced to file a complaint against Soetoro,in the world court for fraud against their nation there might be a chance of putting him in a defensive position, during which he might make a colossal mistake that would be significant enough to allow it to be used against him in that court. But I have since changed my view because it would have to be something really bigtime,and because he has so many people covering his rear it is unlikely that he would make such a mistake. This probably is wishful thinking. He needs to be closely watched and everything he does needs to be documented,and filed for use against him later. At this point I tend to believe that our one best shot lies in torpedoing as many of the liberal Dems in Congress as possible. If we could take back Congress in November Soetoro will be vulnerable. Then you must find Senators who will convene a Federal grand Jury against him. It makes a difference who does it. Hopefully the likes of Schumer, DODD, Leahy, Durbin , Reid, Hoyer, and MMMSSS Pelosi will be gone. Even then making a case against him will be hairy,……………without a doubt.

I lost my first wife after 22 years of marriage. She had cancer. After being together that long it is next to impossible to ever forget your time together. I lose it sometimes myself. The secret (if there is one) seems to lie in not allowing yourself to dwell in the past. The past is just that,and you HAVE to move on. I went with my second wife for 13 years before we were married. My first wife died in 1980. My 2nd wife and I have been together for twenty eight years. She too is a RN. Most of her training was in Geriatrics. She retired early because the organisations that are involved with Geriatric care have been putting an ever increasing level of administrative work on the floor nurses. They refuse to hire staff for this purpose. So she saw fit to wave a birdie at them and retired.
I sympathise with you in your grief. There is a light at the end of the tunnel,Amy. Keep fighting! I took counseling for a time. It helped me a little, but it definitely didn’t get rid of the MEMORIES,and the FLASHBACKS. Time will do a lot more.

I assume that the AZ Governor Brewer wants the ninth circuit to quickly hear the matter even if they uphold the lower courts decission. This way, she can have it in front of the SCOTUS in a heartbeat.

As a long time reader and contributor to CW, I have developed the opinion that those who make posts that attack and degrade other contributors are either OBOTS or at least not useful to the cause of Liberty. I ignore their ramblings and rants, considering the source to be misguided, malfeasant and/or unreliable. Anyone whose posts are disruptive of the free exchange of ideas, information and links here, I consider to be an enemy of Liberty regardless of their protests to the contrary.
