“With less than a month before the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, the unemployment picture in North Carolina worsened in July with the jobless rate increasing to 9.6 percent – the state’s first uptick in a year.
The unemployment rate stayed steady at 9.4 percent for the previous three months. The July rate is the highest since 9.7 percent in March. It is down from 10.7 percent a year ago.
However, with the state set to be showcased on a national stage, Republicans are ready to hand President Barack Obama the blame for rising unemployment.
“I can’t speak for other states, but here in North Carolina, I do think it’s going to definitely hurt the president and help Romney,” Tom Fetzer, the former chairman of the state Republican Party, said.

The June 2012 unemployment rates by county revealed that 84 of 100 counties had an increase in unemployment.

In governmental terms, the deaths and the wounded at Aurora could be called “collateral damage”. The objective was to clear the way for the United Nations ban on individual weapons in America. Which by the way, didn’t work, thank God, and thanks to some level headed Americans.
If the few deaths at Aurora would have helped establish that ban, then to our rogue government, it would be worth the effort.
I’m sorry to say, but that’s exactly how our government thinks now days.

Jonah, I read the article, and, yes, they appear accurate; however, there are some aspects that could be misunderstood.
The author refers to every “additional dollar” in pay, and in that sense the 28% federal rate would be correct for medium income earners.
In all fairness we must always consider, however, that the tax rate schedule is graduated, so that rates are applied in a layered fashion. Therefore, the actual “effective” rate would be considerably less. (by graduated, I mean that the first $10,000 is taxed at a much lower rate than the next $20,000, etc.. I’m using those numbers just as an example) In addition, when one files the federal tax return, there are exemptions and deductions that further serve to reduce the income to which the rates are applied, which we all know. I’m not making excuses for the heavy tax burden. You understand that.
Another point the author makes is that the employer share of Social Security and Medicare taxes – 7.65% – is in effect passed onto the employees, because if the employer didn’t have to pay it, he could raise the employees’ salaries. Well, theoretically that is true, but in actuality it probably wouldn’t happen. He might find another use for it – purchase of equipment, etc. So it is only fair to point that out.
Having said that, though, there is no question that the taxes benefit the government and not us. Liberals, of course, would take exception to that, because they feel that the government needs the money to better serve the people. We’ve seen four years of that big time. How’s that workin’ out for ya’ all?

I am ignorant about global financing, but it seems to me that if India is buying oil with gold as apposed to US dollars, then they are depleting their supply of gold. What comes to my mind right now is that Qaddafi had the largest stash of gold on earth before he went down, and then a central bank was instituted…. and the gold went missing… where the heck is it?
Could it possibly be that Iran will amass a great amount of gold through their sale of oil, then be taken down, followed by a central bank instituted in that country. Then Vwa La… gold gone?
Am I merely talking out of my (tin foil) hat? Any rebukes or corrections are appreciated, (be kind though please, I’m just learning about this stuff).

We want the America of which the Supreme Court of New York in 1811 also said, “Whatever strikes at the root of Christianity tends manifestly to the dissolution of the civil government … because it tends to corrupt the morals of the people, and to destroy good order.”
We want the America of which Daniel Webster said, “The principles of all genuine liberty and of wise laws and administrations, are to be drawn from the Bible and sustained by its authority. The man, therefore, who weakens or destroys the divine authority of that book may be an accessory to all of the public disorders which society is doomed to suffer.”
Webster’s words are all too prophetic. And many immigrants, myself included, want to see a return to the America Webster’s words described—an America that looks to the Bible for guidance and direction. Today, far from heeding the words of earlier courts, our present-day courts have been busily striking at the Christian foundation of our nation. Moreover, the education bureaucracy is busy rewriting American history.
Growing up in Egypt, I had a better grasp of American history and the Christian basis for its foundation than most students in American schools. Today, American children learn little about actual American history as a wide variety of grievance groups have conquered prime space in our children’s history textbooks.
Textbook content is often influenced by pressure groups that inflict their agendas on children, taking up valuable space for feminism, environmentalism, Islamic advocacy, and other special interests.
The most disturbing trend in textbooks is their treatment of Islam, where misinformation is used to portray it in the most favorable light. Islamic extremism is glossed over—even to the point of omitting the terrorists’ Islamic faith when covering the 9/11 attacks—and jihad is explained as simply an internal struggle to please God.
===> Such historical revisions should be repulsive to all Americans, but especially to Christians since they undermine the very principles on which America was founded.
Who is responsible for those actions—and what can we do to change the situation? A leading educator clarified the issue when he noted, “If a foreign government had done to the nation’s schools what we have done, we would have considered it an act of war.”
The media, too, does its best to make anyone who says positive things about the God of our Founding Fathers appear fanatic or stupid. People—especially the media—are careful not to say anything negative about Mohammad or Buddha or Krishna, but a person can blaspheme the name of the Lord continually, and no one will consider him politically incorrect. Such blasphemy is deemed part of a new era of enlightenment. In reality, it signals a return to the dark ages.
For a moment, let’s look back at history. On July 4, 1776, one of the most important documents in the history of the United States was signed. This document marked the birth of this great nation, which, under God, was destined for world leadership. Although this document was called the Declaration of Independence, it was really a Declaration of Dependence. While America’s forefathers sought independence from the British crown, they signed a declaration of dependence on Almighty God. Further, while they desired freedom from foreign domination, they chose to surrender to the Creator of the universe. Their intentions are clearly stated in the closing words of the Declaration of Independence:
“With firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.”
The 56 courageous men who signed this important document knew their words represented far more than high-sounding rhetoric. They realized that if they succeeded, they would experience years of hardship and struggle to maintain this new democratic phenomenon. If they failed, they would face a hangman’s noose as traitors.
These men were willing to pay the ultimate price because they believed that this country was, as the Pledge of Allegiance states, “One nation under God.” They knew that to be born free is a privilege, and to die free is an awesome responsibility. In light of the dedication of these men, don’t we have the responsibility to uphold the standards they set in place?”

One of the worst college education was the newly developed Bachelors degree dubbed “General Education”. This General Education degree is what is sought by the teaching community. Frankly, it is worthless. They specialize in nothing. Additionally, those seeking this easy teaching degree, score the lowest overall in the SAT and ACT exams for college entrance. Secondly, those teachers majoring in general education, score the lowest in GMAT exams for Master degrees, out of all other degrees offered.
That should tell you something. These are the ones teaching our children,
If I had my way, I would eliminate a “General Education” degree from all universities, it’s worthless and proven as such.

The Euro was an “experiment” gone horribly wrong. This has already been admitted publicly, prior to Bernamke of the Federal Reserve handover to him by Alan Greenspan, which in his words [Alan Greenspan] explained that he [they] did not anticipate the cultural differences between each European country as problematic, which assisted in the lack of one centralized monetary policy.

“Today, Mitt Romney said he never paid less than 13% in taxes over the last few years. Romney still refuses to release his tax records, other than the one’s he has released, though he will release his 2011 return before the election.
This did not satisfy the Obama Campaign, which demanded he release all of those tax records.
It is time to see the records released.
No, not Romney’s tax records. We want Obama’s records released.
Romney’s tax records are a non-starter. The only shocking part about his returns would be the amount of his wealth that is confiscated by a bloated and wasteful government.
Obama’s records are much more interesting, since there is a compelling at least circumstantial case that he attended college as a foreign exchange student.
Both Newt Gingrich and Donald Trump have said that Romney should tell Obama that he will release his tax returns after Obama unseals his records.
===> Romney needs to come out and say this. He needs to bluntly say this in front of the national press.
If the did that, a couple of things would happen.
First, the drive-by media would have a collective heart attack. The issue would be forced into the open.
Second, it would be the last time Romney heard a word about his taxes.
This is a pressure point for Obama. Why the hell is this guy so secretive? The answer is he has a lot to hide.
Indonesian school records from Obama’s youth show him registered for school in Jakarta as an Indonesian citizen. Did his mother ever restore his American citizenship after she divorced Obama’s stepfather?
My personal theory is that Obama is simply a scammer. For him, going to school as a foreign exchange student was a scam. He could go to college, be treated in a favorable manner that no American student would be treated and not have to pay for it.
Having someone else pick up his tab seems to be a specialty of Barack Obama.
I’m willing to bet when Barack Obama’s records from Occidental, Columbia and possibly Harvard are opened, it will show that Obama went to at least two of those schools as a foreign exchange student and I am also willing to be those files will have some documentation showing him to be a citizen of Indonesia. Congressman Darryl Issa and Obama have been going head to head on the issue of the “Fast and Furious” scandal. If Issa really wants to up the ante on that one he could issue a subpoena to those three schools for Barack Obama’s records.
If Barack Obama is not eligible to be President, he cannot lawfully claim executive privilege. If Barack Obama is not eligible to be President, he could not have appointed Eric Holder Attorney General. Nor, could he have made any other senior appointments.
The roadblocks for getting the evidence on “Fast and Furious” would be gone.
Romney needs to step up to the plate and tell Barack Obama to release his records.
Obama won’t. He can’t. But the fireworks afterwards would be so much fun to watch.

As we speak, Greek diplomats as well as many World leaders (Including the U.S.) are meeting with German Politicians and adviser’s to support a 3rd bailout, at Germany’s expense.
