I wasn’t going to comment about the Colorado movie theater shooting. Then I read the article below.
There are 2 points I want to make.
1. The study in contrasts of the military member boyfriend who sacrificed his life for his girlfriend vs the self absorbed wack job who murdered people for his own agenda.
2. What those people experienced in that theater is a glimpse into what our military, in harms way, deals with everyday.

“A woman who survived the deadly Aurora, Co. movie theater shooting said her military member boyfriend laid on top of her during the gunfire, taking a bullet and sacrificing his own life to save hers.
Jansen Young said she didn’t realize at first what was happening when alleged gunman James Holmes opened fire on the theater where she was seeing “The Dark Knight Rises” with boyfriend Jon Blunk, according to NBC’s “Today.”
She described an object first sailing into the theater over the audience, which police have said contained an unknown gas.
“It flew up behind us…and it just went boom,“ Young said Saturday on ”Today.”
When the shooting started, she said Blunk immediately shoved her to the ground.
“He pushed my hips to the floor and he’s like, Jansen, Jansen get down and stay down,” she said. “He kind of pushed me in under the seat and pushed on me real hard and he was laying up against me, he kind of whispered in my ear, ‘There’s someone with a gun and he’s shooting people.’”
“I didn’t know, but he knew immediately that it was real,” she said.
The Pentagon said Friday that one sailor and two airmen were wounded in the shooting, and that one sailor was unaccounted for. Their names have not been officially released. A total of 12 people were killed in the shooting and dozens other injured.
Young said that even as the shooting was happening, she had a hard time believing it was real.
“It was scattered,” she said. “I would think it was real for a minute and then I would kind of change my mind and be like no, this can’t be real, these people are acting, this can’t be real.”
Young said there was a woman in the row above her screaming “I’ve been shot, I’ve been shot” and said she felt wetness on her body, which she later realized was blood.
“I didn’t really know what that was, and then it was like a whole bunch of wetness everywhere and I started thinking this is — that’s definitely a water balloon, that’s too much wet to be anything but a water balloon.”
She said someone stepped on her on their way out screaming “Jessie’s been shot!’”
Young said it wasn’t until she tried to get out of the theater herself that she realized Jon was lifeless.
“I tried to shake him and was saying his name, and like Jon, Jon we’ve got to go,” she said. “I kind of poked my head up at that point and realized oh my gosh, nobody’s in here, it’s just us. There were like a few other heads here and there I could see leaving the theater but really the theater was empty…that’s when I got out and I kept thinking that was…oh my gosh, I think Jon just took a bullet for me.”
“I was thinking about what a great hero he was and he provided me the opportunity to survive,” she said. “He wasn’t just a hero last night, he has been a hero forever,” she said.
She said Blunk had planned to re-enlist in the military, telling her once, “Jansen, I was born to serve my country.”
“He was re-enlisting it was just what he wanted to do and he loved it,” she said. “He saved me and he gave me the opportunity to live, he would have done it for anyone that day…that’s just who he was.”
Young said she doesn‘t know what she’s going to do now.
“I can’t fathom not coming home to Jon,” she said. “I don‘t even know at this point if I’m willing to stay in Colorado. Three days ago I was coming back to Colorado because I was going to live with Jon, be with Jon. What am I coming back here for?””

In response to what you posted this morning I can only say that as both an infantry veteran and a Navy veteran, I own a number of weapons which until recently included a M1,all original rifle. I also own a 7.62×39 assault rifle,a Springfield.22 cal.semi auto,and a Winchester Super 70 which is a (wildcat caliber) of .485 Winchester. I also own a 12 guage Savage semi auto shotgun,along with two handheld weapons. One is a .45 US Government Model 1911 Colt,semi auto, and the other is a 9MM Beretta. All are legally registered. I am proficient with ALL of my weapons. I will never in my life even think about useing any of these weapons on others around me in an OFFENSIVE situation. However I PROMISE that I will use any and/or all of them in HEARTBEAT in the course of SELF DEFENSE, or the defense of my family,and property. The PUNK at Aurora Colorado clearly had mental problems, and is the last person who should have had these weapons. Sadly he had no criminal background,and nobody even suspected what he was perpetrating. We live in an allegedly free state so it is reasonable to assume that however horrendous such an act is, it will probably occur over, and over. Firearms do exactly what the operator directs them to do. They do not possess the ability to think,or feel. Unfortunately firearms are easily obtainable. It is the primary tool of we the people,and is in our hands so that we might KEEP ourselves safe from murderers,robbers,rapists,etc.,and as a primary tool in remaining a free country. We are currently facing a clear assault on our 2nd amendment rights by our ALLEGED government,and yes we might soon need our weapons,so that we can KEEP our selves FREE. From time to time there will probably be more of the same sort of incidents. As long as we are a free society this sort of behavior will occur. We can only PRAY that it doesn’t happen to us. This all may sound cold,and unforgiving, but there is no other way to view it. FACT IS FACT.

Since I have no crystal ball, I have no way of seeing clearly into the future. But I believe that I can safely say that our country has been dragged onto the edge of the abyss,and is teetering precariously. I personally think that we are at a historic juncture in the history of our country,and the events of the next 108 days could easily send us crashing to the bottom of the abyss. If that happens then our country is LOST. However I PROMISE that I will CONTINUE to do all that I can to keep us from becoming DEAD PATRIOTS.

Thank you for posting this story. Again, it just shows to what lengths a soldier will go to protect the ones he loves.
I am deeply saddened by this story, but I have taken strength in the fact that there are millions and millions of “Jon’s’ in America today willing to lay down their lives for what they hold dear.
The complete takeover of this country will be a very hard task for the radicals simply because we have the “Jon’s” , both old and young. .I am honored to count myself as one of the older “Jon’s”, willing to make that sacrifice if necessary for what I believe in.

Gordo, there was a post about a photo that was taken, of the supposed “actual document”, when it was delivered to the White House. I cannot remember her name, but she claims to have felt a seal on the document, where there was none. Anyway, after all the hoopla about it’s “authenticity” she photographed the thing.
Her photo of the document proves it to be a forgery, because when the typed info from one line of the document is compared to another line of the document, the type does not line up vertically, as it should if it is a type written document. The forgers shot themselves if the foot.
Her name may be Janet Gutherie, I feel her photo, of the “actual document” from Hawaii, is one of the most damning pieces of evidence against the usurper. I will search for the post.

Very interesting! If such a person was involved with the planning, etc., then others? Maybe those descriptions of the killer as being a “loner” aren’t exactly on the mark. And of course there is the question of who covered the expense of all this weapons/ammo, etc. Then again there is the report of the killer being recorded as a member of Occupy Wall Street and we know that group is backed by unions/Soros and of course they all go back to Zero. Could the group simply sift through the “talents”/expertise of their participants and find those willing to use those “talents” for THE cause….contributing too to the necessity of false flags leading up to the election and making a name for himself too.
One thing though that sticks out here is how willing the police are, everywhere, to find “this person of interest” in this particular case while they could care less about any persons of interest when it comes to enabling a man to falsify his records in order to become pResident. Do they simply wish to wait until untold thousands are killed in any planned chaos of THIS wacko and his equally sick friends???

Folks, I think it’s time we stepped back and taken a serious look at the big picture around us. He is my assessment:
OPTION A: First, if Obama thinks he can win the election in November by the stealing the votes and the ballot boxes he can rig, then he will do NOTHING and let this fraud go over on the people again.
OPTION B: But, if Obama gets the jitters and feels he going to lose this election, then other very very nasty thing are in store for the America people.MARTIAL LAW is a real possibility. All that must occur for that to happen is for a FALSE FLAG to be raised and the order is given.

I just read where former President George W. Bush will not be attending the GOP convention. That started some wheels turning . . .
The inevitable conclusion to where the factoids have been leading me: W was behind Obama’s election (as well as other Republican insiders). The reason? They saw him as an expert on Islam due to his personal background and work with the CIA
George W. had invisioned a very different Presidency for himself with his “compassionate Concervatism” and “no child left behind.” He was blind sighted by 9/11. He had to enter an unfamiliar area with the war on terror. Condi Rice and Colin Powell were to great helps to him, but he made the mistake of listening to Rumsfeld over Powell on the war in Iraq.
Then he heard about this guy running for the Senate who was a former Muslim and Muslim expert who had worked for the CIA. Muslims were seen as friends and allies in the cold war against “godless” Communism. Bush saw Obama in the light of Rice and Powell. McCain seemed like a loose canon. And having a woman in the White House would make it hard to deal with the Muslim world. A woman would have to play a subordinate roll like Rice was doing. So that is what was offered to Hillary Clinton. When McCain deliberately picked a woman for VP it was considered a very bad choice.
So the powers that be, behind the scenes, both Republican and Democrat, lined up behind Obama. And former President Bush was a big part of this. He was really demoralized by what he considered his lack of expertise in foreign affairs and the loss of American lives in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Obama chose a senior fellow for his VP. At this point, “the fix was in.” No one was to question Obama’s background. He was cleared by the CIA and that was endorsement enough.

I found it disheartening that this brutal and barbaric act of terrorism had any right to spawn convorsations of Islam and Muslims. I brought up the Norweigan bombing as a point that the media, without knowing any details, immiediately placed it as an Al-Queda attack when the incident first occurred, when in fact it was some lunatic who called himself catholic. I apologize for sticking my “nose” in your back and forth, but one thing I find interesting is that when asked about giving proof that the violence BY Muslims was denounced by Muslim leaders, if you noticed (I read the article you linked Jonathon) is from 2004!!! You have nothing newer? That article you linked is 8 years old, not that it doesn’t still hold merit, but you’d think a Muslim leader would have spoken out since 2004.
I think the biggest difference between Christian crime and Muslim crime is that while committing the crime, you often hear that the criminal is chanting “Allahu Akbar” when the criminal is Muslim. What this does is reinforce the notion that the crimes are being committed by Muslims are for religious reasons. Also, what “we” hear about Muslims are that when they are “Martyred” they get 77 virgnins upon entering the afterlife. Plus the many videos shown where those about to commit a crime speak about WHY they are doing it. You don’t hear the same “chanting”, rewards or videos about Christians who commit crimes.
And to be honest Jonathon, the first response I heard about the Colorado shooter was that there was a Tea Party member in Colorado by the same name.
I haven’t heard anyone suggest that the shooter was Muslim, and I have follwed the story since about 4:40am on Friday morning, as the story was breaking.

I agree, I am only responding to what I have HEARD, and NOT what I KNOW from research.
I’m not real interested in ANY religion. I don’t believe you have to be “religious” to be MORAL, or have integrity or be of good character. But if you believe it helps you then so be it.
I believe the first comment you made was in response to an article that someone posted that was OFF TOPIC, and you went on to try to bond the two subjects.
There are many religions that get a bad rap.
I would suggest that Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton do NOT speak for MOST Christians, but yet that is what the World sees and hears.
I don’t know enough about Islam or the Muslim faith to lump ALL Muslims in to one catagory.
There are bad people in EVERY religion, and there are good people in every religion.
I would state however that the way women are treated in the Muslim faith, by all that we see, is appalling. If a man can’t control himself in the presence of a beautiful woman, then WHY is the woman punished by having to cover herself?
And for a woman to have to have 4 witnesses to a rape (is that another myth?), I don’t know, I just think people should be respectful, moral and courteous to each other.
As for your video, I watched it, and I don’t know if this woman read the “interpretted” version, or if she read the untranslated version, but the conclusion she came up with is simply HER version of what she read.

I would like to add a bit. First, ask the women how they feel about Islam, don’t speak for them. Yes, they can be abused, but they are also abused in North America no? To answer your other question about rape, well, your referring to governments and a political system that does have its own level of corruption. It’s unfortunate, but remember that it’s those very Muslims that define a small portion of population, but we will ever only hear about these people. Look at what’s going on in Syria, the people know their government is corrupt, and the true Muslims are fighting for their rights. What you reference is against Islam, and I don’t think it takes too much to figure that out.

I will admit that all of the education I have for the Muslim religion is from what I have HEARD.
I’m not really that interested in researching ANY religion either.
But really, truth be told, your first post insinuated that you were a Muslim of Catholic upbringing, and that’s the way I took it. I understand why William would have surmised that you were actually trying to play yourself off as a Christian who was defending the Muslim religion, and it may have been the totality of the posts that made me believe that you were actually a Muslim convert. But I started reading your back and forth BEFORE you actually “came out”.
You asked for me to ask a woman about how she feels about the Muslim faith.
I would submit to you that no matter what the woman told me, the way they are treated isn’t “right”, but IF they CHOOSE to be allowed to be treated that way, then that’s on them, not on me. I can still have my opinion. I don’t agree with ANY man laying their hands on a woman, or treating them as “property”, or for them to be told they will marry this person or that person, but Christian, Muslim or any other religion doesn’t give ANY man the “right” to disrespect a woman. I would also like to add, that you can find MILLIONS of women world wide that stand by their abusive husbands.

I would answer that it comes from my upbringing and life’s experience. I would also add that the Bible does have some good guidelines for morality. I am someone who continually tell people to do what you would want someone to do for you, and NOT what they actually do. In other words, I leave my work area in a manner that I would like for it to be when I return tonight, but it won’t be, it will be cluttered and unswept, but that doesn’t stop me from leaving it straight and clean, and just because it is messed up when I get in, I hope that I don’t EVER get to the mindset of “Well he never leaves it nice for me”, I simply try to set the example. But by and large, I am agnostic. I don’t agree with everything in the Bible, for example, just because you want to see a naked woman, I don’t believe that doesn’t mean that you “covet” that woman. Maybe you just enjoy the view, like a sunset, or Old Faithful.
Maybe you could explain the difference between Muslim and Islam? Are you Muslim and practice Islam? Or are the two the same thing? Not sure. Are there different “faiths” like there are in Christianity, like Baptists, Protestants, Catholics and the like, or is the only one “branch” of the Muslim faith?
And maybe you could explain the benefits of Sharia law. Just the basics please, but from what I have heard, it’s NOT “pretty”. Maybe it’s getting a bad rap, but by and large, our laws are based on Christian views, and I believe that they have served us well for many years.

Ok again I apologize for withholding information, I didn’t see it’s relevance to my main point. But, I think were past that and again I’m sorry for misleading anyone.
First, I would like to say that I respect the decision not to learn about any religion, after all as Muslim’s there is a verse that tells us “let there be no compulsion in religion”. In fact, one of the most important concepts in Islam is not something that can be read from any one particular verse or saying, but is a theme that is quite obvious, which is what really matters is inside a person heart, something only God knows the truth. Actions define a person. God says that if YOU do good deeds in this life you will be seen by God, he does not say if MUSLIM’s do good deeds, which I find interesting. Every good deed a human performs is worth something.
What I WOULD like to say is, if your not willing to go deeper into the origin and meaning of certain things you hear about, then I would say you don’t really have a right to have such a strong opinion on it. This isn’t directed on you, but the notion that people can look at something from the outside and then have an opinion like they are the scholar of everything. This is why reading the messages on this blog really pissed me off. This is a beautiful story of a person who sacked their life for another person. In fact, Jon isn’t the only hero, every person in that theatre is a hero in my eyes. You think that the only person who risked their lives for their loved ones or friends or family, was the person who served in the military? Jon is a hero, yes, but so is everyone else. That’s what I was going to post, then I come down to the comment section and see for some reason the discussion of Islam by people who OBVIOUSLY know everything there is to know. That was the point i was trying to make from the start. Anyways…
Again with respect to women, your implying in your post that women are choosing to be treated like garbage. The exercise I was suggesting was hopefully going to show you that women don’t feel this way at all. In fact, women are afraid to step outside of Islam for the rights they fear they will LOSE. I know, hard concept, right? But it’s true. Women are equal to men in Islam. Maybe not to some sick bastards who give Islam a bad name. But it says quite clearly in the Quran that men and women are equal. Why are they “forced” to cover up you say? Well, in reality they aren’t. The verse in the Quran says to: “Guard your modesty, lower your gaze, bring your veil over your bosom to protect you from disrespect”. A quick look into the history of clothing in that era and you’ll find that the veil and dress was common not to Islam but to basically everyone. Look at every picture of Mary, she looks pretty “Muslim”, no? The main point is to protect yourself by guarding your modesty because lets face it, maybe you can look at a woman and not want to disrespect her, but some people can’t, and God is suggesting a way to protect them. Look at the next verse, God instructs men to do the same.
I can guarantee, 99% of Muslim women dress the way they do because they want to, not because they have to.
This brings me to your question about Sharia Law. This is an interesting thing, and admittedly there are things in “Sharia” that I don’t agree with. The first thing to note is that Sharia differs depending which country you live in. It’s not a “Golden Standard” that every Muslim must abide by, but it’s interpretation varies greatly amongst different countries. Saudi, Iran, Pakistan for example, have a very different interpretation (that I wholeheartedly disagree with a lot of things), than say Kuwait, Jordan, Dubai – which is partly secular. There are some things in “Sharia” in my reading that goes completely against what Islam says. For example, women not being allowed to drive in Saudi Arabia, c’mon thats ridiculous. That comes from Hadith stating a women should travel alone. However this is referring to a woman traveling large distances in the desert. There were no cars, no transportation other than foot and camel. The hadith was actually to PROTECT women, not disrespect them. But somehow that has been interpreted as something so stupid such as woman can’t drive – again, something that doesn’t really apply outside Saudi. Another example is stoning for adultery. This is no where to be found in the Quran, but still makes its way into the law. It actually comes from the bible. Before the Quran was revealed, Mohammed used to ask people of other faith’s to refer to what was available at the time. The Quran was revealed over 23 years, but some hadith for some reason stuck around and apply as if it were the same time period. Something I don’t really understand, and will spend my life fighting for as a Muslim.
What are the benefits of Sharia? Well there are good things too, like there are good things to a law system derived from christianity. But I think where the problem lies is where do you draw a line between politics/law, and religion. In my opinion, some things should be left between you and God, and kept out of law. Other countries disagree, obviously, and this is presented as people using power for their own political agenda. Don’t forget, the Vatican is the richest organization in the world, and at one point in time basically ruled to world, and was the utmost top religious AND political authority. Looking at what disgusting events are going on in Syria, are we at a turning point in history?
About the sects, I’ve rambled on but I’ll be short. 75-90% are “Sunni” Muslim, the other ~10% Shia, plus very small minorities that exist. Short answer yes, there are sects, but the vast majority don’t think there should be, Sunni comes from “Sunnah” which refers to the life of the Prophet. There aren’t supposed to be sects, actually, there aren’t supposed to be “religions” technically. I believe there is only one God. Islam means “Peace” and Muslim means “submitter” – believe and worship God. Quite simple to me. People make the divisions of religion and sects thereof, but I strongly believe that it shouldn’t be so complicated.
