“Don’t be fooled. We’ve just been betrayed by Washington.
A deal on the debt ceiling is near and Washington still hasn’t gotten serious about the fundamentals. It hasn’t gotten serious about default. It certainly hasn’t gotten serious about the future. When Harry Reid hails a “bipartisan compromise” you know we’re doomed.
Republicans and Democrats have just negotiated away the future of our children behind closed doors. The big compromise on Capitol Hill features elaborate triggers, tranches, Hornswogglers, Snozzwangers, Super Duper Commissions that will make the Snozzberries taste like Snozeberries, and a whole bunch of other convoluted gibberish that will, no doubt, come with loopholes and create entire new bureaucracies. What it doesn’t do is fix the problem.
The fact is Moody’s has already warned us that no one has put a plan on the table that comes close to solving our long-term problem. Moody’s will downgrade us. This could happen tomorrow, in six months or maybe a year from now, but at some point in the near future it’s going to happen. And it’s going to hurt. So we must be prepared.
Imagine your credit card’s interest rates constantly rising. Imagine high inflation eating away at your savings accounts, retirement funds and salary — if you’re lucky enough to have one these days. Imagine the interest rate on your mortgage rising and compounding until there was no hope of escaping debt. Imagine that fewer and fewer people are willing to lend you any money as your credit rating takes a dive.
Now imagine we’re talking about 15, 25, 100 trillion dollars and your Medicare, Social Security and Treasury bonds.
Those tanks and missiles Republicans say we need? No more. Those food stamps and green-energy boondoggles Democrats say we can’t live without? Forget it. We won’t be able to afford them. It won’t matter how many prime time speeches the president gives or how dangerous the world gets. The unsustainable cost of irresponsible governance mean everyone loses.
And by everyone, I mean the whole world.
Remember the saying: as Greece goes so goes the world? The United States economy constitutes around 25 percent of the world’s GDP. What happens to global economy when we default? Everyone will feel it. After all, who’s going to send billions in weapons to Egypt’s military regime to help it quell the “democratic” Arab street when we can’t even pay the janitors at the IRS office space?
So what is the point of all the drama in Washington? As best as I can tell most politicians are scared stiff that they might have to have a substantive debate about the debt ceiling during the election season. Other than that, we’re back where we started.
For one, any promise of future cuts is as about as rock solid as a politician’s word. Experience has taught us every year some “unprecedented” emergency will require us to spend hundreds of billions, if not trillions, we don’t have to “fix.” Mark my words, the war (I’m sorry … “kinetic military action”) that no one even understands in Libya will expand and then all the promises forgotten.”
“You cannot spend more than you earn. You cannot run up the largest credit card bill in human history. You want more revenue? Stop chasing income earners overseas by threatening them with higher taxes, stop inflating their energy costs and stop punishing them with never-ending regulations. Mr President, put down your socialist mop! Stop with the Cloward and Piven floor wax.
And then balance the budget, cut back the spending and reform entitlements.”

Placing suspicion on the purchase of more than two guns, filling out purchaser profile reports and making visits to customer homes all chill the notion that gun ownership is still “legal” and “a right.” A type of martial law has been imposed upon the entire Southwest zone in the name of fighting cross-border drug gangs, restricting 2nd Amendment rights and placing the burden of proof upon the seller. Obama’s newly issued Executive Order #13581 ‘Blocking Property of Transnational Criminal Organizations‘ declares a national emergency, nominally going after drug gangs like Las Zetas, yet is written vaguely enough that nearly any entity could be seized if a link is suspected. One such likely target here are the gun shops that ATF and Justice Department have repeatedly tried to link to gun violence. Will dealers who either fail to comply with this paperwork or who are suspected of supplying guns that are later sold across the border be shut down and seized?
Just as drug war border zones extending 100 miles from the border are sold as “Constitution free zones” where rights can be violated, the ATF has effectively obligated gun dealers in 4 states to preemptively report on its customers, despite existing background checks under the FBI. Meanwhile the Justice Department, ATF, FBI & Co. based in Phoenix ran a false flag under Operation Fast & Furious to arm drug gangs to frame sellers in the Southwest border zone. A similar false flag was run in Austin in 2010 where the ATF and local police staged an arrest and declared a ban on private sales in effort to shut down Texas Gun Shows, a favorite target of gun grabbers longing to close “loopholes.”
If Barack Obama, seeking to ban guns “under the radar,” can get away with this bureaucratic tyranny through executive policy under his Presidential agencies, then the executive branch can get away with anything (powers that will also extend to the next GOP stooge in the Oval Office). President Obama “the Constitutional scholar” has dangerously ruled by decree far too many times already: waging war with Libya while arrogantly saying he doesn’t need to consult Congress; taxing carbon dioxide through the EPA when Congress wouldn’t pass legislation; ignoring the Constitution by taking foreign titles under the U.N. and more. Now, after refusing to secure the border, Obama will cynically wage ‘war’ on the drug gangs (openly backed by top Wall Street banks and armed by the executive branch) in order to attack the second amendment by proxy. Gun dealers, induced to inform on their customers, will be painted with fault as firearm restriction sets in– unless we say no.”

“The debate over raising the statutory debt ceiling has accomplished little but revealed much about the unwillingness of many in Washington to face up to our generation’s most pressing challenges.
At the heart of the gridlock is a deep disagreement over the role that out-of-control government spending plays in our current predicament — and nowhere is this disagreement more strongly expressed than in the debate over the government’s role in health care.
One approach has been enshrined into law by President Barack Obama’s new health care overhaul, a 2,700-page mistake that has compounded the worst problems in American health care, weakened our economy and accelerated out-of-control government spending. The law’s many restrictions and mandates have jeopardized access to affordable, quality health care for millions of Americans.
Already, more than 1,400 businesses and organizations have asked for waivers from these new mandates on the grounds that the new top-down, one-size-fits-all rules would profoundly disrupt the health care arrangements of the millions of Americans they cover. Most of these waivers were granted, but some were not. And while it’s unclear whether political considerations played a role in which waivers were denied, it’s crystal clear that with power increasingly centralized in Washington bureaucracies, businesses will seek to employ good lobbyists at the expense of good workers.
Combined with more than $800 billion in new taxes, the uncertainty created by the new law is having a chilling effect on hiring. The small-business owners I speak to in southern Wisconsin are concerned that they have no way to plan for hundreds of new rules that have yet to be written. Will more waivers be granted next year? How will bureaucratic decisions change from year to year? It’s anyone’s guess. No wonder a team of analysts at McKinsey & Co. recently found that as many as a third of employers are planning on terminating the coverage their employees currently enjoy.
Unless it’s fully repealed, this law will also harm seniors. It raids $500 billion from Medicare and sets up a board of 15 unelected bureaucrats to make decisions that will result in denied care to seniors, without taking any credible steps to control the underlying health care costs that are speeding Medicare toward bankruptcy. The law’s approach to another critical program, Medicaid, is similarly misguided: The law would force an additional 20 million Americans into this broken program, even though it is [financially] failing the beneficiaries it currently serves.”

Obama and Boehner struck a debt ceiling deal yesterday.
House and Senate votes are imminent TODAY.
Rush Limbaugh said today that he’d “love to support it,
but.”, noting that this deal is NOT a victory for the
Tea Party.
The fact is, it’s a dirty deal. Here are a few reasons why:
–The “dollar-for-dollar” spending cuts are not real.
Obama gets $900 billion in debt ceiling increase NOW in
exchange for $1 trillion in spending cuts OVER TEN YEARS.
As we know, future “cuts” in government spending are not
cuts at all.
–The real causes of runaway government spending are not
addressed. Entitlements are left untouched. Baseline
budgeting (which guarantees ever-rising government
spending) is intact.
–The risk of a downgrade in our credit rating has not
been addressed because runaway spending has not been
addressed!
–The Obama Stimulus levels of spending are now permanently
entrenched in future government spending models.
–The debt only rises in a never-ending upward trajectory.
The $900 billion raise in the debt ceiling will not even
last one year. An additional $1.2 trillion in additional
debt will be “triggered” to carry the nation through
the election.
–There are allegedly NO tax increases but that is smoke
and mirrors because the CBO is projecting that the Bush
tax cuts will not be extended. If the Bush cuts are NOT
extended, that amounts to a huge tax increase. If the Bush
tax cuts ARE extended, the CBO projections fall apart and
other tax increases will be mandated by the trigger mechanism
in this bill.
–Finally… the LEFT is coming away from this debate with
one of their key goals accomplished: demonizing the Tea
Party. According to Politico on Friday, the Tea Party has
moved from “hostage takers” to “full-blown terrorists” who
are “craven to inflict massive harm on innocent victims to
achieve their political goals.” (Link below)

For those of you who are on Medicare, read the article below.
It is about the monthly amount of money you are going to pay into Medicare in 2011, 2012 and the huge increase you will pay in 2013. It’s a short important article: You will pay it.
Social Security
Congress will not allow an increase in the social security COLA (cost of living adjustment). However, the per person monthly Medicare insurance premium will be increased from the 2009 premium of $96.40 to $104.20 in 2010, $120.20 for the year 2011 AND Yearly increases to a wonderful $247.00 in 2014. Thank You Obamacare!
Congress also gave themselves a $3,000 a month Cost of Living Adjustment!

He is purposely overwhelming the U.S. economy to create systemic failure, economic crisis and social chaos — thereby destroying capitalism and our country from within.
Barack Hussien Obama was my college classmate (Columbia University , class of ’83). He is a devout Muslim do not be fooled. Look at his Czars–anti-business–anti-American. As Glenn Beck correctly predicted from day one, Barack Hussien Obama is following the plan of Cloward & Piven, two professors at Columbia University. They outlined a plan to socialize America by overwhelming the system with government spending and entitlement demands.
Add up the clues below. Taken individually they’re alarming. Taken as a whole, it is a brilliant, Machiavellian game plan to turn the United States into a socialist/Marxist state with a permanent majority that desperately needs government for survival and can be counted on to always vote for bigger government. Why not? They have no responsibility to pay for it.
Universal health care. The health care bill had very little to do with healthcare. It had everything to do with unionizing millions of hospital and health care workers, as well as adding 15,000 to 20,000 new IRS agents (who will join government employee unions). Obama doesn’t care that giving free health care to 30 million Americans will add trillions to the national debt. What he does care about is that it cements the dependence of those 30 million voters to Democrats and big government. Who but a socialist revolutionary would pass this reckless spending bill in the middle of a depression?
Cap and trade. Like health care legislation having nothing to do with health care, cap and trade has nothing to do with global warming. It has everything to do with redistribution of income, government control of the economy and a criminal payoff to Obama’s biggest contributors. Those powerful and wealthy unions and contributors (like GE, which owns NBC, MSNBC and CNBC) can then be counted on to support everything Obama wants. They will kick-back hundreds of millions of dollars in contributions to Obama and the Democratic Party to keep them in power. The bonus is that all the new taxes on Americans with bigger cars, bigger homes and businesses help Obama “spread the wealth around.”
Make Puerto Rico a state. Why? Who’s asking for a 51st state? Who’s asking for millions of new welfare recipients and government entitlement addicts in the middle of a depression? Certainly not American taxpayers, but this has been Barack Hussien Obama’s plan all along. His goal is to add two new Democrat senators, five Democrat congressman and a million loyal Democratic voters who are dependent on big government.
Legalize 12 million illegal Mexican immigrants. Just giving these 12 million potential new citizens free health care alone could overwhelm the system and bankrupt America. But it adds 12 million reliable new Democrat voters who can be counted on to support big government. Add another few trillion dollars in welfare, aid to dependent children, food stamps, free medical, education, tax credits for the poor, and eventually Social Security.
Stimulus and bailouts; where did all that money go? It went to Democrat contributors, organizations (ACORN), and unions — including billions of dollars to save or create jobs of government employees across the country. It went to save GM and Chrysler so that their employees could keep paying union dues. It went to AIG so that Goldman Sachs could be bailed out (after giving Obama almost $1 million in contributions). A staggering $125 billion went to teachers (thereby protecting their union dues). All those public employees will vote loyally Democrat to protect their bloated salaries and pensions that are bankrupting America. The country goes broke, future generations face a bleak future, but Obama, the Democrat Party, government, and the unions grow more powerful. The ends justify the means. Raise taxes on small business owners, high-income earners, and job creators. Put the entire burden on only the top 20 percent of taxpayers, redistribute the income, punish success, and reward those who did nothing to deserve it (except vote for Obama).
Reagan wanted to dramatically cut taxes in order to starve the government. Barack Obama wants to dramatically raise taxes to starve his political opposition. With the acts outlined above, Barack Hussien Obama and his regime have created a vast and rapidly expanding constituency of voters dependent on big government; a vast privileged class of public employees who work for big government; and a government dedicated to destroying capitalism and installing themselves as socialist rulers by overwhelming the system.

Remember that Fox did an extensive search for any Columbia classmates of Obama’s – (I believe 400 students were interviewed) and NO ONE ever claimed seeing him there.

With all the debt ceiling talk it still amazes me that people think (not here)they have a right to Social Security benefits because they paid into the system, like an annuity. This is of course false.Congress could end the program tomorrow. I suspect means testing is on the horizon and SS will become a Pauper/ Welfare type program.

I just watched The Senate pass the Debt Bill on c-span2. I saw Sen. Reid go over to Sen. Barbara Boxer and put his arm around her and probably whispered into her ear – “Well we pulled another one off around them!!”
That fact that neither vote in either house or senate was even close shows that we are screwed again. They all got what they wanted. Now Obama will take the credit.

I wonder if anybody has thought about what the possibilities will be WHILE ALL OF THE SLIME politicians are DEEP UNDERGROUND. To an extent it would be within the grasp of thinking people to simply make the underground utopia into a PERRMANENT CRYPT, by permanently sealing ALL ENTRANCES and exits. This was the Obama regime’s plan from day one. Geithner appeared before Congress in early May and told them this in no uncertain terms. This outcome has been a known quantity all along.
There are no spending cuts in this plan. It is all accounting fraud. Saying that you are not going to spend money in Afghanistan ten years from now is not spending cuts. Even if you accept the $1 Trillion in cuts over ten years propaganda, that is only $100 Billion per year, which is essentially meaningless relative to the size of the problem. Furthermore, even a miniscule uptick in interest rates, which given the massive debasement of our currency is now a mathematical certainty, will completely consume that $100 Billion per year. It’s all a joke.
Back to the $2 Trillion that Obama is being handed. I honestly think that most people in this country have no understanding of simple counting numbers. Do you not understand how much a trillion is? Where do you think this money is going to come from — who has two trillion dollars to loan us? China? Nope. Not even close. China’s entire GDP is only $6 Trillion. Do you honestly think that China is going to loan us one third of their total annual economic production? China was a huge creditor to us back when $100 Billion was considered a staggeringly large amount of money – which was four years ago. Now $100 Billion is literally a rounding error. Do you realize that there are only a handful of nations of this planet that even have a GDP in excess of $2 Trillion? If these countries loaned us every penny of their GDP, it wouldn’t even be $2 Trillion:

There is a large illegal element in this country that have no loyalty to this country. They are “not of the soil”, and would be a part of the problem. They certainly would not be part of the solution.

It’s also why he’s always pointing the finger of blame on others for his policy failures. Everyone knows by now that Obama’s reckless and corrupt stimulus package failed to restrain unemployment as he had promised and that instead of accepting responsibility for it, he blamed Bush.
He also played another familiar liberal card: He insisted his stimulus bill would have worked if he had been allowed to spend more money. So he started pushing for a second stimulus, all while increasing the government’s regulatory stranglehold on business and cramming Obamacare down our throats.
All of which is to say — with added emphasis — that Obama is fresh out of ideas. Worse, he’s the immovable force standing in the way of those who do have constructive proposals.
He didn’t even submit a plan during the debt ceiling negotiations, and his party’s Senate majority hasn’t presented a budget for more than 800 days. We have a spending and entitlement problem, but Obama’s ideology precludes him from addressing either. It drives him, instead, to insist on increasing taxes on the rich. But raising rates would further smother the economy and not significantly increase revenues.
The GOP is far from perfect, but it has presented serious proposals to address the debt crisis, which include capping discretionary spending, restructuring entitlements, passing a balanced budget amendment and reforming the tax code. These plans could work, but the Democrats have steadfastly and shamelessly opposed them and ridiculed their proponents, such as Rep. Paul Ryan.
During the debt ceiling negotiations, we’ve seen more of the same. Obama’s Democrats are refusing to sign on to real cuts (only reductions on the rate of spending increases) and even more resistant to meaningful entitlement reform.
If a compromise passes, it will only be because Republicans have concluded, accurately or not, that it’s the best they can get in their effort to reduce the bleeding until 2012, when they hope to regain firm control of both political branches. No matter how they spin it, it will not be a good deal; the only question is how bad it will be.
Republicans fear that if they don’t take the deal and the budget ceiling is not lifted, disastrous economic and political consequences will ensue: Our economy will collapse and Republicans will be blamed and lose the 2012 elections, and then any chance of saving the nation from financial catastrophe will be lost.”

My only question is why have we had to use warfare to settle our differences with a foreign entity, who in each and every case have sworn to kill all of us……..for whatever reason. So we draft a million of our children put rifles in their hands,and send them off to a foreign land to beat the crap out of the head honcho local yokul. We no sooner get that mission concluded and we find ourselves right smack dab in the middle of another brewing war. I can see there was a need of this in 1776, but it seems that every time I turn around we are embroiled in another war. There is a few “talking heads” that because of their younger age do NOT understand what was GUARANTEED by the US government with regard to so called “entitlements”. These KNOW IT ALLS were NOT YET BORN when the Social Security system was put in place. This was a WRITTEN and signed AGREEMENT with the Federal Government. Now we HAVE EVERY RIGHT to expect the GUARANTEED RETURN upon our “INVESTMENT” in the original annuity. It is NOT our fault that POLITICAL SLIME saw fit to liquidate the annuities, and place the SS funding in the GENERAL FUND. Sorry I didn’t get back to you late last night Old Salt with a response to your blog….I will try to do that now. This may be a long blog, bare with me.
There was once a time in America when employment was good. We made things and sold them to the rest of the world. Life was great and we all had a dream.
Then along came G.H.W. Bush (the first new order guy), then Bill Clinton who introduced us to NAFTA then followed Dubbwa Bush (in his daddy’s footsteps), and now O’bummer with plans to finish off America and make us a third-world bananna republic. He has almost accomplished the mission.
America’s problem is these TRAITORS have made WAR the only business America has to participate in now. The last four presidents have allowed BIG BUSINESS to ship all the machinery and industry in our country to China, India, or Mexico. In return they gave us WALMART.
You are also right, we send off the cream of our youth to foreign countries to fight OTHER PEOPLES WARS, while the American taxpayer is footing the bill for the bullets. Our country is bankrupt because of this military/industrial complex stranglehold. There is never a payback from war.
Over a TRILLION dollars was poured into the Iraq war and not a damn penny of revenue has been returned. We are still pouring BILLIONS into that slim hole.
Then theres AFGANASTAIN, LYBIA, YEMAN, PAKASTAIN, sucking up BILLIONS of taxpayers dollars trying to defeat goat herders in caves. What great logic our leaders in Washington are showing!
I do not fault the common soldier. My heart goes out to him. I was one for a long, long time. But back then, I felt our cause was worthy, and our fight was just, but even then it was a heavy load to carry. I felt we were trying to defeat Communism before it defeated us. The American people felt otherwise and we gave Vietnam up. Although we were winning that war from the military point of view, that slim-ball Henry Kissinger and others were behind closed doors closing the deal to give up.
Today, our soldiers really don’t know who, or what they are fighting, or why they are fighting. They are following orders from a higher chain of command, that won’t question the legal rights of their C-in-C, and jails a fellow officer who is brave enough to step forward and raise the question that is on 70% of American minds. What kind of General officers do we have today? Let me answer my own question. Their not military officers, their politicians in uniform. There’s a hell of a lot of difference in those two terms.
No, Old Salt my friend, I’m afraid the only business America has today is WAR, and we are not doing very good at that. We have now passed 14.5 TRILLION in debt , just added 2.8 TRILLION more and there’s no end in sight.
Our country is being destroyed from within by idiots, while our youth are fighting and dying in foreign countries to protect the interest of big business.
Fifty years from now, our grandchildren will spit on our graves for allowing those who would destroy the “American Dream” to put them into bondage forever.
Those who set by idly now and do nothing will have deserved it.

Perhaps you need to talk with a veteran who has been there and done it. Because now we might end up without a choice. Either fight or die anyway. I will die fighting, should this become my only option. The clock is ticking and there is no way to rewind it. When it stops the die is cast. Yes there are gfoing to be thousands of casualties should it come to armed conflict. But you need to keep in mind that the worse our situation becomes the more people there will be who will be willing to lay down their lives to keep this country FREE. When many of our YUPPIE friends discover what is happening they will join the club. Many of them have a hell of a lot more to lose than most of us plain folks do. But after all is said and done they will be standing alongside of us. When all of America unites ,and sets out to “CLEAN HOUSE” it will not be pretty. At present we still have the ballot box as an option. Hopefully it will not contain any votes for the usurper. While this is probably wishful thinking I have to say that the better we do what we are faced with doing between now and twenty twelve the greater the likelihood that Soetoro will be totally whipped at the ballot box. Get the word out to the “DUMMIES”who STILL think he is the MESSIAH.
