Debt ceiling compromise, Congress votes today, August 1, 2011, Debt raised $2.1 trillion, Government spending cut $2.4 trillion

“Congressional leaders, leaving no extra time before a default threatened for tomorrow, are racing to push through a compromise sealed with President Barack Obama last night to raise the U.S. debt limit by at least $2.1 trillion and slash government spending by $2.4 trillion or more.
The House plans votes today and the Senate may follow suit to consider the agreement reached during a weekend of negotiations that capped a months-long struggle between Obama and Republicans over raising the $14.3 trillion debt ceiling.
Both parties were working to sell the deal to their rank and file — meeting resistance from social liberals who fault it for failing to increase taxes and from fiscal conservatives who say it’s insufficient to rein in the debt.
“The leaders of both parties in both chambers have reached an agreement that will reduce the deficit and avoid default,” Obama said in an appearance in the White House briefing room last night as congressional aides were drafting the legislative language. “This compromise does make a serious down payment on the deficit-reduction we need. Most importantly, it will allow us to avoid default.”
Stocks may rally after the deal, as futures on the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index expiring in September gained 1.1 percent to 1302.10 as of 11:01 a.m. in Frankfurt. Treasuries retreated after soaring July 29 in the wake of weaker-than-forecast U.S. economic growth figures. Ten-year notes yielded 2.85 percent, still less than their average 3.06 percent in the past year.”
“Two Installments
Lawmakers who were to vote within hours on the measure were just learning its details. It would raise the debt ceiling in two installments, sufficient to serve the nation’s needs into 2013. The framework, as detailed by officials in both parties, would cut $917 billion in spending over a decade, raise the debt limit initially by $900 billion and assign a special congressional committee to find another $1.5 trillion in deficit savings by late November, to be enacted by Christmas.
If Congress met that deadline and deficit target, or voted to send a balanced-budget constitutional amendment to the states, Obama would receive another $1.5 trillion borrowing boost.
In the case of Congress failing to take either step, or not producing debt savings of at least $1.2 trillion, the plan allows the president to obtain a $1.2 trillion debt-ceiling extension. Still, that would trigger automatic spending cuts across the government — including in defense and Medicare — to take effect starting in 2013. The Medicare cuts would only affect provider reimbursements, not benefits.”
“Concessions Made
In the final stage of negotiations, both sides made concessions. Republicans dropped their insistence on withholding some of the borrowing authority until future spending cuts had been made and a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution had been passed by both chambers of Congress. Those terms were included in a bill the House passed narrowly and along party lines July 29, only to see the measure defeated in the Senate less than 24 hours later.
The White House agreed to forgo an automatic tax increase, a sticking point for Republicans, as one of the consequences to kick in if no debt-reduction law was enacted by Christmas.
Even so, Obama has an opportunity to increase revenue in the future if he opts to allow the tax cuts enacted under George W. Bush to expire as scheduled in 2013. Even if Obama lost his re-election campaign next year, he could veto legislation to extend those cuts before leaving office — producing an estimated $3.5 trillion.
White House officials said the enforcement mechanisms will help them press Obama’s agenda as further deficit reductions are made, including additional tax revenue.”

I have only one word for this agreement. Disaster. The fact that we arrived here because the liberals spent on the stimulus for ‘shovel ready jobs’ and expanded unemployement benefits, as well as using tax payer money to bail out people houses and fanny mae and freddie is unacceptable. Now, someone will have to pay: Physicians (easy targets), Veterans (easy targets), active military (easy targets). The fact that there are virtually no jobs in the country to support the people, and no plans to create them, or rather setup an environment where jobs can be created, is the disaster. Manufacturing has to be fostered here again, so we can sell goods and bring money IN to the US. All the money that was used to bail out corporations, other countries, and fight wars leaves none for the employment problem. People are angry that their money was used for this and they or they’re children, parents or siblings are out of work and unemployment benefits are running out. The government failed the people by allowing all of the jobs to leave the country and now the safety net is ending. Where are the 30 MILLION unemployed going to work and live?
As I predicted in a prior post. If the dept limit is increased Obama will be reelected. More than 50% of the county pays zero income tax the remaining 10% works for the government. Therefore the Quislings will vote for the status quot and OBAMA WILL REMAIN IN POWER. SIMPLE MATH!
Tea Parties Demanding Investigation of Obama’s Ineligibility!
Why the issue of Obama’s lack of eligibility has not been taken up by the Tea Party prior to this time is unknown. The nationwide grassroots movement grew out of the reaction to the ineptitude and spending habits of Congress, and their growing understanding of what Obama meant when he said he wanted to transform our county. Their initials signified their angst, “Taxed Enough Already”! The Tea Party has clout and has proven it in the 2010 election cycle and since, especially showing up during this debt ceiling/ debt reduction fiasco currently being played out on stage at the Congressional Theater in Washington, D.C.
As a Hillary Clinton supporter, I sympathized with the Tea Party because of my anger over Obama’s stealing the nomination from her. I was primarily concerned with Obama’s eligibility and when I went to a few meetings it seemed like there were a lot of women who were Democrats who felt the same way, but then the Tea Party solidified into a movement about taxes and seemed to drop the eligibility issue to my great disappointment, even though, I do agree with the movement to pay less taxes too. If they take up the eligibility issue again, I think they will tap into the original issue Democrats were willing to join with them which will bring them a wider base of support, in my opinion.
As much as I would like a deal and a small victory over the D-RATS. The current proposal is a sham. I hope it fails, better for me to crash this Ponzi scheme now than in 10 years.

The Solution
How many saw for themselves the excitement that was created by Donald Trump when he made a challenge to the eligibility of Obama? He is the ONLY challenge to Obama that scared the “you know what” out of their people. He was so frightened that he had to kill Osama Bin Laden(who by the way had been a CIA agent for us in the Afghanistan war with Russia) and release his contrived birth certificate.
Donald has said he is still waiting to see who the Republicans will choose for their candidate. Personally, I don’t think anyone is hot to be selected. Who wants to be the captain of a sinking ship? Trump has one asset that will only save the USA- BUSINESS SENSE. Someone once said “the Business of America is Business”

I think he should run as a Constitutional Party Candidate. The reason – Who doesn’t believe in the Constitution except the USURPER. There would be both Democrats and Republicans who would crossover on this ticket. It would be hard to find Dems to change to Repubs and vice versa because of generations of distrust for each other.

Mr. Bill, you have certainly nailed it. I really can’t disagree with what you have set forth.
Whether or not the entrance of a third party would accomplish splitting the vote sufficiently to prevent any of the three nominees from obtaining the necessary 270 electoral votes, could be iffy if it were to happen now, BUT by next year it could be possible, imho. Relatively speaking it is still very early when it comes to the political clock for 2012.

A Debt Solution Proposal.
I’m sick and tired of all this talk about the debt crisis. Our leaders are failing us and all we get is talk, talk and more talk. Let’s get to the meat of this problem and do something to solve this monster.
I would like to off a few suggestions. I don’t know if I’m out in left field on this matter, but I’ll try. I realize you can’t fix stupid i.e., Congress and the President.
1. Conduct independent studies to review all aspects of government spending. This review should be made by independent, non-partisan groups. At least six reviews should be performed annually with recommendations presented to Congress the President. Findings also need to be made available to the general public.
2. Cut the Federal bureaucracy by 10% and reduce Federal salaries, excluding the military and law enforcement. Downsize and eliminate unnecessary governmental agencies such as the Department of Education and the EPA.
3. Place members of Congress, the President and the President’s wife on an expense budget. Dramatic savings could be made by eliminating Obama’s 22 CZARS, Michelle’s extravagant vacations, and her staff of 22 personal assistants.
4. Cut welfare and find ways to eliminate welfare fraud.
5. Generate income revenue from Americans….you might be asking “how can this be done?”
During WWII the government issued WAR BONDS to help finance the war debt. How about issuing DEBT BONDS to help finance the debt. Or better yet, start a NATIONAL LOTTERY program to help finance the debt. Part of this money needs to be reinvested back into American businesses for jobs!
The deal is a sham.
It’s sold as “the republicans got everything, it’s all cuts”
In actuality, it’s all tax increases and cuts that either will never happen or will only “reduce the growth” and not actually cut something.
The deal is to let bush tax cuts expire and ss tax cuts expire. Yet it’s sold as only cuts in spending.
The cuts in spending will either a. never happen (when has the gov’t ever cut spending with a weak economy?) or b. just be cuts from the fanciful numbers they “projected”. Not real cuts in spending. Anybody that has watched gov’t operate for decades knows this.
So a deal that is all tax cuts and no spending is sold as all spending cuts.
You see, the democrats and the media want to get what they want and make the public hate republicans all at the same time. That was their goal.
And, unbelievably, Boenher is actually telling people it is all spending cuts. And, unbeilievably, so is much of the rest of the “conservative” media outlets, like the wsj.
It’s “all spending cuts” is kind of like “obama is eligible”.
Takes me back to the bible. Back where Paul says in romans that people are sinning and, if that wasn’t bad enough, theyr’e encouraging others to sin, too.
Old testament is chock full of gov’ts that lived a lie.(which is rejecting God)
In every case, their empire was destroyed, usually by another country.
Does anybody think it is going to be different here? Is our gov’t going to live nothing but lies and come out smelling like a rose? Is our country?

Regrettably, the present Republican Party has acquiesced to the far left’s notion of a Constitution flexible to whatever political winds are blowing at a particular moment.
The political establishment and the mainstream media, which feed off it, do not want ordinary Americans to take back their government.
They are quite happy with the status quo; spending our money, enjoying the perks of power and bending the law whenever it suits their purposes.
That is why the political establishment and the media viciously attack the Tea Party and candidates like Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann. Unlike the ruling elite, they more closely reflect the interests of ordinary Americans and, therefore, are considered a deadly threat.
The present Republican Party has demonstrated that it is incapable of responding to the will of the people and providing an effective opposition to a Democratic Party controlled by far left-wing ideologues.
American patriots must organize and challenge the Republican members of Congress, who will not adhere to the Constitution and uphold the rule of law.
Obama cannot be permitted to run for President in 2012 because he is not a natural born citizen. There must be an investigation of the evidence that Obama committed felonies before and after occupying the White House.
That is the Republican litmus test.
If government officials refuse to respect their oaths of office, then it is the responsibility of American citizens to act, as we are “the natural guardians of the Constitution.”
Unless Obama can prove that he is eligible for the Presidency, every responsible means, including civil disobedience, should be employed to prevent him from contesting the 2012 Presidential election.
Without the Constitution, there is no United States.
There can be no compromise.”

There is overwhelming evidence that the Certificate of Live Birth presented by Obama as his own on April 27, 2011 is a forgery.
